This is a beautiful film. I thought it was going to be a movie about loneliness, but it is really a movie about healing. It’s about kindness and connection and it is all portrayed in such an unexpected way. I really love what this film does.

1 star for characters, 1 star for plot, 1/2 star for depth, 0 stars for cinematography, and 1 star for another moving performance by Gosling.

I watched this with my dad and we were both fixated start to finish. It’s not as much about what actually happened, but the storytelling method is so captivating. It’s nothing new or genius or even unique, but it’s captivating piecing together a story bit by bit as you go along. The suspense is well executed, the aesthetic is cool, and I liked the character interactions a great deal. 🧡

1 star for characters, 1/2 star for plot, 1 star for cinematography , 1/2 star for depth, and 1 star for criminals (edit: professionals) arguing over their colors

Judging by my typical metrics, the plot is simple and not very creative, the characters are underdeveloped, and everything the movie tries to say is so surface level it feels like it’s not even trying. There are some funny bits here and there, but in the context of the movie they still often felt out of place. That being said, I know I’m not the target audience and this movie will probably hold the attention of…

The moment that I went from “what the hell is going on” to “OH SHIT” was unbelievable. This film is absolutely beautiful; it will have you questioning everything for nearly the entire duration but the payoff is heartbreaking. It’s sensitive, touching, and a thoughtful look into the mind. I love it.
