  it’s about wanting something you can’t have. like forbidden fruit. you yearn for it and want it so bad no matter the consequences, that you inevitably take the chance. Elio and Oliver did this. they both knew loving each other would be seen as wrong due to so many things. and yet they still chose to love each other even though they had to hide it. 

  Call me by your name is about wanting something so bad that the lines of “right” and “wrong” completely blur together. Elio and Oliver completely blur into each other, and inevitably calling each other by their own name.
