Questions about example sentences with, and the definition and usage of "Fit"

A: It means "of the right size or smaller to enter" something. If a ball "fits into a hole" then the ball is either the perfect size or smaller than the opening of the hole. If a car "fits into a parking space" then the car is not too big to park between the lines.

When it comes to things that have to be the perfect size (like clothes) then "fit into" doesn't work if the item is too large or too small. If my pants are too large and they fall down, I don't "fit into" them even if I can put them on.
