Daily fucking reminder that Luigi Mangione is innocent, completely and fully. He has been convicted of no crime. He has had no fair trial. He is a SUSPECT. Luigi Mangione is entirely innocent and everyone needs to stop parroting this insidious propaganda that he “committed” the crime he is only SUSPECTED of. He is not a murderer. He is not a criminal. He is an innocent man.
Put this out about Luigi Mangione.
contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they don’t feel that internal sense of ‘i am a woman’ or ‘i am a man’, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someone’s like ‘idk dude I just work here’ then that’s valid
A portion of people in the notes are like ‘but that makes you trans. That’s called being agender’ and another portion of people are going ‘this is how the majority of cis ppl feel and it’s NOT agender’ and personally I feel like both of them are missing the point here. Yes a lot of people identify as agender because of this feeling. Yes a lot of people with this same feeling still identify as cis. These are not mutually exclusive experiences and it doesn’t mean the agender people are secretly cis or the cis people are secretly agender. It just means they have very similar experiences of gender that they choose to conceptualize and label differently, and neither of them are mistaken or wrong to do so.

Shit man, this mech war is fucked. I just saw a doll shoulder its rifle and say "reality warp: black hole star" or some similar shit, and every mech around it cratered, radiated a ring of pure energy, and disappeared. The camera didn't even go onto it, that's how common shit like this is. My ass is firing anti-personnel rounds and buckshot. I think I just heard "nanomachines: skewer" two groups over. I gotta get the fuck outta here.
Holding up snarky signs doesn't seem to be working.
For me, it isn't about whether this action is appropriate or not. It's about how this kind of action is inevitable.
I'm going to let Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. explain in a quote no one seems to post during his annual holiday.
"It is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear?"
If you only speak up about a supercharger catching fire and ignore the unheard, you are prioritizing a thing over people.
the emotion i just experienced is kind of indescribable
the funniest part of this post to me is that the reblog:like ratio is nearly 1:1. nobody’s just liking everyone who sees this video goes yeah i gotta inflict it on as many people as possible
I have a story out today, tumblr. It's called The V*mpire and I wrote it for us.
Please mind the warnings.
update: The V*mpire has been nominated for a Nebula Award for Best Short Story.
One thing I appreciate about the Final Fantasy speedrunning community is that their strat names are goofy as hell even by speedrunning standards. I just watched a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth run that introduced me to the Yuffie Hamster Wheel. Fantastic.
@ignite-the-azure replied:
how do you hamster wheel with yuffie
Most of the folks reading this post probably haven't played Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so to provide a high-level explanation:
- FFVII Rebirth has a resource called "ATB", which is generated when a character uses their basic attack, and is spent when they use basically any ability which isn't their basic attack.
- The character Aerith has a skill called ATB Ward. This skill creates a persistent zone of effect on the battlefield; whenever a character standing inside that zone uses an ability that costs ATB, part of Aerith's ATB will be transferred to that character to top them up.
- There's also an unrelated skill called ATB Assist, which can be equipped by any character. When a character equipped with ATB Assist performs multiple ATB expenditures in quick succession, it builds a combo which grants a small amount of ATB recovery to their fellow party members.
- The astute reader has probably already spotted the potential feedback loop: have Aerith cast an ATB Ward, then have an ally with ATB Assist equipped stand inside the Ward and spam skills. However, the numbers don't work out as one might hope; i.e., ATB Assist won't restore Aerith's ATB fast enough to offset the ATB drain from keeping the Ward up.
- ... unless the character inside the Ward is Yuffie.
- Yuffie has a a dodge skill called Brumal Form, which refunds part of its ATB cost when it successfully dodges an attack.
- With the right build, you can set things up so that Yuffie's ATB refund for a successful Brumal Form dodge plus the ATB that Aerith recovers from Yuffie's ATB Assist skill when Yuffie chains multiple Brumal Form activations is greater than the total amount of ATB expended to fuel the whole setup – i.e., you actually end up with more ATB than you started with if the dodge succeeds.
Basically, by having Yuffie run in circles inside Aerith's ATB Ward, you can generate infinite ATB. This is the Yuffie Hamster Wheel.
Mecha battle RPGs aren't, like, my main thing. but any game that decides it's going to resolve combat entirely via d66 rolls is automatically going to the top of the list.
For reference, the way that works is like this:
i.e., your mech's character sheet is also your to-hit matrix, and anyone targeting you makes a d66 roll per shot to see what part of your mech they hit. Depending on how big your mech is, you could have as few as twelve or as many as thirty grid squares available for components; smaller mechs are thus inherently harder to hit because more squares on the d66 grid are empty (but it also sucks more when you do get hit, because you have less redundancy). Accuracy and evasion bonuses let you dink with d66 rolls to adjust what square is hit (accuracy naturally lets the attacker decide, while evasion benefits the target).
Oh no. MAGA is mad that the NYT shared the names of DOGE staffers. Don’t share this! Would be a shame
Let these traitors have ruined lives and failed careers for butchering a country they had no right. A fictional DOGE has actual 'enemies within' loyal to villainous Musk. Shame them!
yeaaaah , I won t share this AT like all ....
2nd time I am not sharing this at like all .
A story to boost the morale of a broken country.
Ok but the article is actually insane. It starts with telling you about this specific incident and then drops on you the fact that train robberies are happening more and more in recent years and a couple of reasons are because there are so few railroads is very easy to figure out which one is carrying a specific shipment *and* that because trains are forced to be so long nowadays (many are multiple miles long) they don't even know they've been robbed most of the time until it's long gone.
yay for the train robbery renaissance
