Estática

This study presents the failure analysis of a Karson brand commercial chair, which failed in the lower left arm, in the area where a holding pin is located. Initially, a static analysis is performed on the part in question to determine the magnitude of the forces present. Subsequently, the normal internal force, shear and bending moment is found in the zone of failure of the arm so that, in this way, the stress that are generated in the piece are determined. Finally, with this stress is determined the safety factor with which it is verified that the piece will fail. Additionally, with the help of the SolidWorks software a simulation is carried out with which the results obtained are verified analytically.

En este estudio, se presenta el análisis de falla de una silla comercial marca Karson, la cual falló en la parte inferior del brazo izquierdo, en la zona en donde se ubica un perno de sujeción. Inicialmente, se realiza un análisis estático a la pieza en cuestión para determinar la magnitud de las fuerzas presentes. Posteriormente, se encuentra la fuerza interna normal, cortante y el momento flector en la zona de falla del brazo para que, de esta manera, se determinen los esfuerzos que se generan en la pieza. Finalmente, con estos esfuerzos se determina el factor de seguridad con el cual se verifica que la pieza fallaría. Adicionalmente, con ayuda del software SolidWorks se realiza una simulación con la cual se verifican los resultados obtenidos analíticamente. Este documento es un trabajo de desarrollo de una armadura típica con cargas puntuales, enfocado al estudio de las deformaciones por cargas axiales y por pandeo, diseño y análisis de elementos mecánicos, manejo de programas computacionales para el planteamiento de soluciones a problemas de ingeniería y manejo de costos en proyectos de diseño.

The objective of this project is based on the design and manufacture of a mechanism for a didactic product, awakening the interest of those who have affinity to horses and their skills. It is intended for people between 20 and 50 years old. Ergonomic, functional, use, aesthetic, structural and mechanical aspects were taken into account. In addition, the mechanisms were verified through the Working Model and SolidWorks software, with their corresponding static and kinematic calculations of the mechanism. The purpose of the project was to design a toy in the shape of a racecourse where there were two horses in competition, these displacements being generated by a crank movement exercised by the user, which was determined by kinematic calculations with the use of polar coordinates, finally we developed a prototype in scale 1-1 where we observed the speed of movement, the trajectory and the time it takes to carry out the activity. We conclude that for the development of competitiveness it is necessary to use a train of gears, which allowed the reduction of speed and the linear movement of the horse.
