Africa has been for many years misinterpreted and often referred to a continent of political instability, refugee’s crisis, civil wars, corruption and under development.
This perception leads and undermines confidence to venture into new businesses across the continent.

The study tour to Jamaica has been somewhat of an eye opener for me. Being a final year International Relations student, I have always held the view that having international exposure to various cultures, practices and networking is important for anyone who wishes to make a major impact on the international arena. My study tour to Jamaica gave me the opportunity to interact firsthand with the Jamaicans and appreciate their culture, food, and hospitality. During the tour, I was able to visit the Jamaica's Parliament and observe a sitting between the Public Accounts Committee and the Special Select Committee. I had also attended various lectures at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus with my fellow third and final year International Relations colleagues of that University. What I find interesting in Jamaica, is the fact that the Island have a rich history dating back from pre-colonialism right up to post independence. While I was there I also took the time to speak with some of the locals and was inquiring about the major issues affecting the Island. I was informed by multiple persons on various occasions that Jamaica experiences a class issue dating back from colonial era right up present. A lot of poor families were able to escape a life of poverty through sacrifices and education according to one of our Chauffer. There is a wide gap between the rich and the poor and what is amazing is that e.g. In Beverly Hills, which is way up the mountains, they are lots of wealthy people living in mansions and driving luxury vehicles there but down in the valleys they

Významnú kapitolu dejín Kysúc predstavuje obdobie sprevádzané vysťahovalectvom do USA podnietené viacerými nevyhovujúcimi podmienkami v rámci Rakúsko-Uhorska. Príspevok sa zaoberá konkrétne problematikou vysťahovalectva z oblasti Bystrickej doliny koncom 19. a v prvých rokoch 20. storočia. Sleduje motívy migrácie a jej jednotlivé fázy, pričom obsahuje i štatistické údaje o migrantoch v danom období. Pozornosť taktiež venuje samotnému priebehu cesty do Ameriky a popisu konkrétnych cieľových miest, do ktorých vysťahovalci smerovali zväčša za účelom zárobku, či už natrvalo alebo s úmyslom vrátiť sa neskôr do pôvodnej vlasti. Súčasťou štúdie je i tabuľka emigrantov zo sledovanej oblasti, ktorá vychádza z údajov databázy imigračného strediska Ellis Island.
One of the most important chapters in the history of Kysuce is the period when emigration to the USA was very frequent. This was caused by many factors, mostly unsuitable conditions in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. This paper deal particularly with emigration from the region of the Bystrica valley at the end of the 19th and in the first years of the 20th century. It stuedies the motives for migration and its individual phases, while also working with course of the journey to America and describes the specific target destinations, permanently or with the intentio to return to their homeland. The table listing emigrants from this region is also part of this study - based on data from the Ellis Island immigration centre database.

Der Corvèe-Dienst bedingt einen gewissen Grad an Mobilität auch für Frauen der unteren Gesellschaftsschicht.  In  Hinsicht  auf  die  genutzten  Verkehrsmittel  ist  festzustellen,  dass  sie  sich  auf dem  Landweg,  ebenso  wie  Männer,  mit  Sänften  bzw.  Streitwagen  fortbewegten.  Spezielle  geschlechtsspezifische  Fortbewegungsmittel  auch  für  den  Wasserweg  sind  nicht  nachzuweisen.  Die Mobilität von Frauen erstreckt sich nicht allein auf Kurzreisen, Reisestrecken von ca. 650 km wie von Memphis nach Theben sind keine Ausnahmen. Die mit dem Ortswechsel verbundenen emotionalen,  sozialen  und  kulturellen  Implikationen  werden  in  den  ägyptischen  Textquellen  kaum  themati-
siert.

Wisata Kawah Ijen dan Gunung Ijen merupakan danau terbesar di Pulau Jawa, kawasan wisata kawah ijen memiliki luas keseluruhan area sekitar 2.560 hektar dan termasuk diantaranya kawasan hutan wisata seluas 92 hektar. Kawah ini terletak di puncak Gunung Ijen di 2 kecamatan yaitu kecamatan Licin, Banyuwangi dan kecamatan Klobang, Bondowoso. Kawah Ijen memiliki pemandangan yang sangat indah saat dilihat dari Gunung Ijen, dengan mempunyai warna danau hijau kebiruan serta asap belerang makin membuat setiap mata yang melihat menjadi terpesona. Mempunyai ketinggian sekitar 2.368 mdpl membuat cuaca disekitar kawah sangat dingin bahkan terkadang hingga mencapai suhu 2 derajat celcius. Sehingga makin menambah sensasi tersendiri, ditambah lagi dengan berbagai macam dan warna batu belerang dapat anda jumpai di kawasan ini. Danau Kawah Ijen merupakan salah satu kawah asam yang terbesar di dunia. Memiliki tingkat keasaman (Ph) mendekati nol, sehingga dengan mudah melarutkan tubuh manusia. Oleh karena itu para pengunjung harus berhati-hati dan tidak boleh terlalu dekat dengan kawah. Namun hal itu tidak menyurutkan niat para wisatawan untuk dapat melihat langsung pesona kecantikan kawah ini, hal ini terbukti banyaknya para wisatawan yang datang baik lokal maupun mancanegara. Kawah Ijen merupakan sebuah kawah sebuah gunung ter-asam di dunia. Memiliki dinding kaldera setinggi 300-500 meter sedangkan luasnya mencapai 5.466 hektar. Untuk ukuran kawahnya sendiri kurang lebih 20 km. Kawah tersebut memiliki kedalaman sekitar 300 meter di bawah dinding kaldera. Tak pernah terbayangkan jika Indonesia yang sangat kita cintai ternyata memiliki pesona alam yang dapat kita banggakan di mata dunia. Khususnya warga Banyuwangi – Jawa Timur, yang tentunya sangat beruntung tinggal di berdekatan dengan Kawah Ijen.

The history of the city of Yangon travels on two tracks. One is religious. The other is economic. Even when Yangon may have seemed to be a city of politics after the Third Anglo-Burmese War (1886) and again after independence (1948) up until the capital officially moved to Naypyidaw (2005), religious or economic factors were never far from the surface. One could argue that without either the religious or the economic element, Yangon never could have become a teeming metropolis and the largest city of Myanmar. Another way to say this is that, though neither religion nor the economy comprised Yangon’s character alone, they were both absolutely necessary to provide it with the importance and personality that Yangon carries today.

This paper explores the phases of culture shock most people go through and how to cope with them.

Este trabajo es una etnografía que habla de un grupo de locos, jóvenes que viajan por períodos extendidos y trabajan con “arte” callejero: malabaristas, músicos y artesanos. El trabajo de campo para esta investigación tuvo lugar entre 2017 y 2018 en varios puntos de
Ecuador y Colombia. Como metodología utiliza la etnografía multilocal, la observación participante y la realización de entrevistas semi-estructuradas. Los datos adicionales los recopilé durante los últimos tres años a través de mi propia participación en la escena del
viaje de los locos. Se concentra en un estilo de viaje que transita el espacio liminal de dejar ser joven y comenzar a ser adulto, que además encara los riesgos de viajar sin dinero y su implícita marginalidad. Primero que todo, el trabajo explica las nociones teóricas utilizadas
a lo largo del trabajo. Luego, presenta un marco histórico y social. En seguida, la descripción etnográfica de sus lugares y prácticas con el fin de entender el significado que le dan al viaje. Por último, aborda el viaje como un momento ritual de importancia ontológica asociado a un peregrinaje contemporáneo. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es
comprender las narrativas y prácticas de los locos en sus viajes en torno a sus búsquedas, transformaciones personales y negociaciones con los valores, prácticas y estilos de vida dominantes en sus sociedades parentales. Pretende aportar al estudio del viaje de los locos en el orden que lo entiende como un fenómeno en el que el viaje se inscribe de manera ritual, que ha sido poco estudiado en y desde Latinoamérica.

Increasing youth travel has led to young people being labelled as ‘nomads’. This paper examines the phenomenon of youth nomadism in the tourism literature as well as examining recent empirical evidence. A review of the literature around youth nomadism identifies two major themes: analyses of the growth and development of youth travel niches, such as backpacking, volunteer tourism and educational exchange, and broader approaches linked to the rise of the mobilities paradigm. A major global survey of youth travel (34,000 respondents) indicates three major travel styles related to different forms of ‘nomadism’: the backpacker, the flashpacker and the global nomad. The traditional backpacker can be seen as a form of ‘neo-tribe’, gathering in self-sufficient enclaves. In contrast, the flashpacker, or ‘digital nomad', utilizes existing digital and logistic infrastructure to maintain a fluid, individualized lifestyle. The global nomad, or ‘location independent traveller’, tries to integrate with the local community, while trying to avoid the strictures of ‘system’.

Wenceslao Machado de Oliveira Jr.) es proponer algunas categorías generales para efectuar una aproximación primera al modo en que cineastas de tan diversa naturaleza como Béla Tarr, Wim Wenders, Chantal Akerman, Aleksandr Sokurov, Philippe Grandrieux, Claire Denis, Manoel de Oliveira o Pedro Costa afrontan la relación entre el indi- viduo, el espacio y el desplazamiento. La idea de que el cine europeo es un cine de ciudades, en el que cada gran metrópolis encuentra un cineasta capaz de reflejar sus particularidades y de transferirle su propio imaginario puede verse matizada por la atención que algunos de estos cineastas prestan hacia las vías de comunicación que emergen de esas ciudades y los no-lugares8 o espacios de puro tránsito que las circundan. La concatenación de la ciudad, la autovía y el automóvil escenifica, precisamente, la ausencia de una verdadera otredad lejana, de una verdadera frontera, que espolee el trayecto de un viaje y la pro- pensión a retratar el espacio bajo un modelo cercano a la instalación conceptual.
