Ideology plays an important role in our life. Translation and language are always sites of ideological encounters. Translation is represented through a dominant ideology of any society. If translation theories and ideology put under scrutiny, evidences regarding the influence of cultural conflicts will be found in them. This paper is firstly aimed at investigating the analytical framework proposed by Hatim & Mason (1990, 1991, and 1997) to study and analyze the issues of Genre, discourse and text; and then for the purpose of studying the issue of ideology and its angles in translations. This article aims to study language use in modern Thai songs about disappointing love sung by male singers. Data from the top ten most viewed in YouTube were collected. The analysis focused on 3 methods which were lexical choices, idiomatic expressions and figures of speech. About the lexical ones, foreign loanwords, slangs, colloquialisms, address terms and punning words were used. About idiomatic expressions, there were only 6 idioms. While 8 types of figures of speech were found, namely simile, metaphor, personification, symbol, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, paradox and rhetorical questions.

This paper attempts to analyse the Lexical Choices in Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken poem from the perspectives of stylistics. Stylistics is the study of style of language in literature. It seeks to account for the interpretative effects of a text through close study of its linguistic detail, such as syntactic structuring, semantic deviation, deixis, modality, etc. A piece of work cannot be properly understood without a thorough knowledge of the language, which is its medium of expression. Each register has its own characteristics style with certain lexical and grammatical choices. Poets, particularly modern ones, have successfully freed themselves from constraints of what is so called ‚poetic language (Sharma, 2009: 31). In this write up, the value of the game considers the lexical choices in the poem " The Road Not Taken‛ by Robert Frost in the following categories: nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, lexical categories such as synonymy, antagonymy, contradiction and their significance or effects in the poem.

Gender identity, one of the most important social categories in people’s lives, is socially constructed and language is claimed to have a significant role in constructing the gender identity. This paper studies the construction of Sundanese women through five Sundanese nouns referring to women found in the corpus of Manglè magazine, published between 1958–2013. The research employs a mixed-method design in which quantitative analysis is combined with qualitative analysis to investigate how the nouns referring to women are used to construct Sundanese women from the periods of Guided Democracy (1958–1965) to Reformation (2004–2013). The quantitative analysis is used to examine the frequency of word occurrence diachronically. The frequency of word accurrence is subsequently interpreted qualitatively by considering social and cultural contexts, such as the norms of speech levels in Sundanese, Sundanese belief about marriage, and gender issues. The paper examines the discursive practices of religious discourse
constructing devout religious identity that instigates fiery sentiments not
only to rule out law of the state but also to assassinate others in the name of Allah (Hussain, 2018.). The religious discourse analysis is the
framework and methodology of the paper. Religious polemics are categorized on the basis of spirituality present in them in contrast to the
political discourse that constructs the rule of power. For analysis of the
religious discourse on blasphemy case of Aasia Noreen Bibi, five speeches of the prominent religious figures of right and left wing have
been selected and analysed on the basis of intertextuality for authenticity, affective, logic and lexical and syntactic construction to perpetuate the discursive practices in the realization and legitimization of the power of ideology of the actors through language. The paper delimits its scope to the case of Aasia Bibi, and the lives taken in reference to this case, i.e. assassination of the former governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer (Taseer’s Omen: Salman Taseer's assassination shows how entrenched the religious right has become in Pakistan's polity, 2011) and former minister of religious minorities Shahbaz Bhatti. The study focuses on the construction of an accusative, extremist, violent religious discourse employing abusive lexemes by some of the right winged scholars that led extremists to protest country wide and cause damage to the public property on hearing the Supreme Court’s acquittal of Aasia Bibi in October 2018 (Zafar, 2018; Hashim, 2018).

The analysis aims to identify and explain how ideology is constructed and presented through language used in two Pakistani newspapers, viz., the Nation and the Dawn. Emphasis is placed on the construction of ideology using framework of analyzing media discourse given by van Dijk (1998) thus revealing the close relationship between language and ideology. The findings indicate that lexical choices and sentence structure in written text play a fundamental role in propagation and perpetuation of implicit and dominant ideologies and that there are certain ideological differences that are yielded either tacitly or overtly in newspaper editorials.
