    November 27, 2012 In keeping with our religious education program, Fully Alive, and this years school board theme, By Our Works, We Show Our Faith, students are going to be participating in an activity at the Garden Terrace long term care home. This experience is designed to help increase student awareness of the idea of community and needs within a community. At the same time, theyll also be able to help spread a little bit of Christmas cheer. This experience will no doubt be of great benefit to all individuals participating. We are fortunate that Garden Terrace is quite excited to welcome our young people into their community. On Friday, December 7, 2012, the grade 5/6 class will be walking to Garden Terrace. The walk is approximately 20 minutes and students are encouraged to dress appropriately for this walk. When arriving at the seniors home, the staff will provide us with a brief orientation and explanation of services offered by Garden Terrace. Then, students will have time to visit with the seniors and participate in a Christmas activity that we are planning for them. We are looking for some volunteers to join us on our walk and visit with the seniors. We will be leaving Holy Redeemer at 9:20 am and will be returning around 11:20am (during lunch).
