Week 4: Assessing Your Progress discussion
Assess Your Progress
Think about the class so far and assess your progress. Share what you have learned well, and discuss any confusion you may have and areas in which you wish to improve. Topics may include course-related skills, such as Boolean searching, using the Virtual Library or the APA Style Guide, or managing your time.
Respond to your classmates and point one another to helpful resources or information presented in the course. Share your strategies for success, such as search techniques in the Virtual Library, or methods to format references appropriately in APA style.
Initial Post due by Tuesday. For detailed grading criteria, refer to the Discussion Rubric.
Week 4: Annotated Bibliographies 3 and 4 Deadline Due by Saturday at 11:59 pm, ET.
Directions An annotated bibliography is intended to demonstrate your ability to read and critically examine articles, books, and other sources of information for their usefulness in relationship to the assignment you are completing.
As you may have noticed, not every article you read will be helpful in the writing of your essay. You have to weed out the texts that do not further your research and focus on the texts you will be able to incorporate into your writing.
For this week's assignment you are being asked to submit two annotated bibliographies. These bibliographies should be formatted according to APA standards and should be two paragraphs in length. The first should be a summary of the article and an assessment of its strengths and weaknesses. The second paragraph should be an explanation of why you chose that article and how it helps to support your research (tell your reader why this article is helpful to you).

Your annotated bibliographies should include the proper APA citation for the article and the body of each of your annotated bibliographies should be between 150 and 175 words in length. The citations you provide do not count toward the total word count requirement. Please double-space the body of your annotated bibliographies.

Week 4: USA Life Skills activity
Deadline Due by Saturday at 11:59 pm, ET.
Directions This activity involves the COMM150 portion of the USA Life Skills initiative that builds upon your previous Financial Literacy knowledge gained in FYE. You will have TWO weeks to complete this activity. There are two (2) parts to this activity and each is worth 50 points toward your overall score. Part 1 (worth 50 points) Take a screenshot of the results from the transcript area (screenshot instructions are available in the FAQs tab) and attach or export the file in Week 4.
Part 2 (worth 50 points) In the text area of the drop box, prepare a short reflection (150 words minimum) involving what you have learned from this activity to address the following areas:
Explain what you learned about the difference between needs and wants. Identify what needs you have established.
Identify what short or long term goals you have set.
Determine how you will apply this knowledge in terms of meeting your needs and reaching your goals.
