DEFINITION
Insect Bite is a disorder caused by
insect bites or sting that will activate
a reaction towards the toxin or
alergen produced by insects
Insect bites and stings can cause an
immediate skin reaction.
Epidemiology
Insect bite and sting are prevalent
throughout the world.
Little avidence exists that sex is
responsible for differences in reaction to
arthropod bites
ETIOLOGY
Arthoropoda class bites or sting human :
I. Arachnida Class
A. Acarina (mites)
B. Araneae (spiders)
C. Scorpionidae (scorpion)
II. Chilopoda and Diplopoda Class
III. Insecta Class
ETIOLOGY
INSECTA CLASS
Anoplura (Lice),
Coleoptera (Beetles)
Diptera (flies, mosquitoes)
Hemiptera ( bedbug, kissing bugs)
Hymenoptera ( ants, bees, wasps)
Lepidoptera ( butterflies, moths )
Siphonaptera ( fleas ).
PATHOGENESIS
Delayed rections are typically
manifestations of the hosts immune
response to protein aceous allergens
Insect bite or sting little injury
bodys immune response to antigens
reactions reflects the immune
mechanism mediated IgE
pruritic papules, nodules and vesicles
Clinical Manifestations
Oedem
Eritematous
Insect bites reaction can
be Localized or
Generelized
The most frequently
encountered response is
papular urticaria
Excoriated papules
Anaphylaxis is mainly
related to Hymenoptera
Secondary infections is a
common complication
LABORATORY FINDINGS
Routine Blood Examination
Increasing of eosinofil in the blood
Histological Finding
In acute phase there are oedematous epidermial
cells, spongiosis, paraceratosis, and also
polimorfonuclear cells. In the dermis can be found
vasodilatation of the vessels and acute
inflamation cells
DIAGNOSE

SCABIES
Scabies is a transmissible ectoparasite skin
infection characterized by superficial burrows,
intense pruritus (itching) and secondary infection.
Etiology Filum Arthropoda, Arachnida
class,
Sarcoptes var.hominis
Sarcoptes scabiei
Clinical manifestation nocturnal pruritic, group,
kunikulus, tungau
papul, vesicle, urticaria
SCABIES
URTICARIA
Urticaria is a skin
condition, commonly
caused by an allergic
reaction, that is
characterized by
raised red skin wheals.
Many etiology
Subjective itch,
burn feeling.
Clinical manifestation
eritema, oedem.

MANAGEMENT THERAPY
Topical
Topical corticosteroid
Menthol, phenol, or champor
Secondary Infection Topical Antibiotics
Sistemic
Antihistamin
Anaphylactic shock Epinefrin
PROGNOSE
The prognose of insect bite and sting
usually good
Depend on insect and poison type
Anaphylactic shock the prognose
depend on the quickly and good
treatment
