Personal Pronouns

A pronoun may take the place of


naming words in a sentence. They refer
to people or things.

Example: He, She, It, You, I, We, They


Subject Pronouns
A subject pronoun is used as the
subject of a sentence.

(1) She is my best friend.


(2) It is my dog.
(3) Does he know the answer?
(4) You and I will meet later.
Object Pronouns

An object pronoun is used as the


direct/indirect object or the object
of a preposition.

(1) Give the book to me.


(2) The teacher gives her a sweet.
(3) I will tell you a story.
(4) Susan likes it very much.

Using Pronouns Correctly
A preposition may take the position before an object pronoun.

Example:
