In the second reading today St. Paul talks about the special kind of love between a husband and a wife. Through the sacrament of Matrimony we are called to live in love as Christ loved us. Does our marriage relationship reflect the love of Christ for all to see? Contact Tim and Pat Doyle, 630-5770778. For more information visit our website at: wwmejoliet.org.
Let us pray for Cardinal George at this time. I have had an opportunity to serve with Cardinal these past four years on the Catholic Conference of Illinois. He is a true leader and shepherd. Please offer up your rosaries and holy hours for his intentions and for the doctors. Fr. Peter

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME
A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
In todays Gospel, we hear that a number of Jesus followers left him because his message was too difficult for them to accept. In essence, they did not believe in him. He then asked the Twelve if they wished to leave as well. Peter responds by making a profound profession of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Twelve made a choice and stood by their choice, remaining loyal to their commitment to Jesus. A good question for our reflection might be this: Are we satisfied with the stewardship we exercise over our baptismal commitment? Are we just along for the ride? Are we keeping Christ in front of us as we make decisions about our daily activities, our relationships, our parish, issues in the workplace, issues such as peace and justice? What is the quality of our stewardship?
Each year the Knights of Columbus hold the Tootsie Roll Drive to raise funds for the Developmentally Challenged. This year the Knights will be soliciting for donations after all masses the weekend of Sept.14th and 15th.- Tootsie Roll Banks will be available. The Knights will be on street corners and store fronts in our area the weekend of Sept.14th and 15th along with Sept.21st and 22nd. Please help us raise funds for Registered Charitable Organizations in our area. We thank you in advance for your support. Anyone wishing to volunteer on the weekends please contact Ed Schumann at (630)627-8213. Non-Knights and ladies are most welcome to help.

Ministry of the Faith Formation Commission WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY SEPTEMBER 5
This long, hot summer is winding down and its a good time to start thinking about fall and the coming season at Christ the King. The Wednesday Evening Bible Study Group will kick off the 2012/2013 season on September 5, in the East Room at 7 oclock. We are a small Christian community of about ten parishioners who meet on the first and third Wednesday evenings to discuss the various books of the Bible. To start this season we will study the Parables using Stories of the Kingdom by Amy Welborn as a guidebook. We have lively discussions and its a fun group of people. Please bring your Bible (although the Bible is not mandatory) and plan to join us and learn about the Parables and other stories of the Scripture. If you have questions please call Don at 630-629-3028.

Womans Choice Services is very happy to announce that our 2nd Annual Walk of Hope and Healing was a success!
Dear Fellow Parishioners, For those of you who may have missed the article last week my name is Rose Isaily and I will be hosting a table at Hospitality on September 2nd to share information on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societys Team in Training organization. This week I would like to share how I became involved with TNT. Alone I was an Athlete I joined TEAM IN TRAINING and became a HERO! How did I come to join Team you ask? Well it all started back in 2002 when I picked up a flyer in one of the sporting goods stores which promised to train me for a Marathon, Triathlon, Half Marathon or Century Ride and take me to exciting destinations! How cool I thought this would be to do something like this with my husband so I brought it home and shared it with Mark. He seemed very interested in one destination in particular (Hawaii) but was skeptical whats the catch. Even though he suspected a catch he signed up to attend an info session anyway. When he returned from the info session which he attended alone, since I worked for a CPA firm at the time and it was tax season, he was very negative saying the catch is you have to commit to a training schedule and to raise money which of course we couldnt do that. Well they had our names and address so we continued to receive flyers and postcards about 3 times a year all of which went into the recycle. This was not something we were ever going to do we were busy people and how do they expect us to raise money! Well life happens and things change the first change that happened was Mark and I bought bikes. Our first bikes were hybrids that we rode on the trails of IL and then we were introduced to rode riding and had to buy Rode Bikes. The second thing that happened was the CPA firm that I worked for partners split and I was no longer employed but self employed and had a little more time. The third thing that happened was a flyer came in the mail! I signed up for an info session and dragged Mark along with me. The event I was interested in was a semi local century ride (ACC) so the fundraising was minimal and I signed up then and there. Since we began rode riding all Mark talked about was completing a century so this was going to be my chance to shut him up and do something that not only would force me to exercise but would enable me to fulfill a dream I had of helping others. So we joined Team In Training for the Apple Cider Century (Fall Season 2008) and have continued to participate in each event since either as a participant or support volunteer. Why do I continue to ride season after season? The reason I continue to ride is the mission, my teammates and of course it still forces me to get off the couch. Of the three though the Mission is my driving force for continuing to fundraise and train so one day when a parent hears that their child has leukemia they will also hear but its okay we have the cure! I AM COMMITTED TO TRAIN - ENDURE - ACHIEVE MATTER (TEAM) Rose Isaily
Womans Choice Services held their 2nd Annual Walk of Hope and Healing on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 at Gebhard Woods State Park in Morris. The 60 participants walked two miles, then gathered at the pavilion for food and family fun. The event featured Nancy Kreuzer, Regional Coordinator of the Silent No More campaign, as guest speaker. She shared her emotional testimony of abortion, forgiveness, and healing through Jesus Christ. Everyone at Womans Choice Services would like to extend a very special thank you to members of the Immaculate Conception Parish family in Morris for making this years walk a success. We also would like to thank our sponsors, Wal-Mart and Nestle Waters. We are grateful to all who walked or donated time, food and money, and to all those who keep us in their prayers. Womans Choice Services couldnt do our life-saving work without you!

VOCATIONS SURVEY
A recent study of men who were ordained in 2011 resulted in some interesting findings that might affect the way we approach vocations in our parishes: 66% were encouraged by their parish priest. Do not underestimate the importance of your invitation. Family plays a significant role: four in five have parents who are both Catholic; one-third have a relative who is a priest or religious; more than half report more than two siblings nearly 25% have more than five siblings. 71% were altar servers. Catholic education has had a strong impact on the ordinandi. In comparison to the average adult Catholic population, they are more likely to have attended Catholic elementary or high school. Of those who attended college before entrance into a seminary, 67% attended a Catholic college. More than half of the ordinandi are between the ages of 25-34. Over the last 5 years, the average age of ordinandi has been trending younger. Thank you for your faithful witness of priesthood. Please invite the young men in your parish to consider priesthood. Or feel free to pass on their name and contact information to me and I will be happy to contact them. God bless you, Fr. Burke Masters, Vocation Director

Back to School...
Its that time of year again. This year it seems to be happening sooner than usual, but it is time to say farewell to our college bound parishioners, and time to begin our new school year. As our children set out to grow in knowledge and wisdom, we ask God to bless them and send the Spirit upon them to guide them through the excitement and awkwardness, of the new school year. We hope that Christ the King will always be a place they can call home! We will miss you.
We Need YOU!!
What is your gift? Do you hear God calling you? Can you share your faith with our young parishioners?

We are still looking for a few good people who want to share their faith with the young people of Christ the King. We need Catechists and assistants. As a Catechist, you will work with an assistant or Co-Catechist to share your faith through weekly lessons. We provide all the resources you need to help you on this journey. As an assistant, you will help the Catechists by helping the children stay on task. Never say you are too young because we can use High School Students too!
