Dear Students: Ready for 2nd Season sports? The time has come. Season 2 team try-outs start this week Thursday, October 18. The try-outs will be for girls and boys Basketball, Touch/Rugby and Tennis. See the bulletin for times and locations. Be on time and give it your all. PowerSchool grades will be updated this Friday, October 19. Be responsible; check your progress and communicate with your teacher if there is a concern. Parent Teacher Conferences take place this week Tuesday, October 16 and Wednesday, October 17. As a result, there is early student release both days at 12 noon and there are no after school activities. Please make sure that you make transportation arrangements to get home promptly. Also, Monday is a regular school day; there is no early dismissal as printed in the school calendar. This is the final full week of MAP testing. On Wednesday morning at 7:30 A.M., there will be a make-up session for any student who missed or did not fully complete one of the tests. If you fall into this category, the MS Office will notify your parents; please make sure to attend the make-up session. Sincerely, Mr. Gillespie and Ms. Sayson

A reminder that the HS Play, an adaptation of Markus Zuzak's bestselling novel The Book Thief, is on next week. The story centers upon Leisel Meminger, a young German girl living in the midst of World War Two. As a book that is part of the Grade 10 reading list and also taught in MS Honors English, the play should prove to be both educational and entertaining. The play will be performed on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st of October at 6.30pm. There will also be a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday. Tickets are available from the cashier now. Here is the poster designed by Grade 12 student Tanya McCorkle:
