Whats happening???
What a beautiful, LONG weekend! I hope everyone had
a great one. This week we are beginning Unit 2. Our
story is What Jo Did. We will discuss cause & effect
and background knowledge. Our word analysis skill
focuses on prefixes in & -un. Our spelling words are
long i words. We will be learning about nouns and
reviewing types of sentences. We will take our spelling
test on Wednesday & Thursday. Please make sure you
are checking your childs agenda and monitoring their
Learning Logs. If you have access to the internet, please
have your child work on their IXL at home. You are
signing agendas nightly to confirm you are aware of
weekly homework, events, and notes that may be sent.
You are signing the learning log to confirm that your
child has completed the tasks each night. I know that

we have the same goal of helping your student


succeed. Thanks for all you do. Please do all you can
to make sure your child is rested and present each
day. We do not have school on Thursday & Friday
10/13-10/14.

M- Learning Log
T- Learning Log- leveled reader
W- Learning Log-reading textbook
Th- Learning Log
F- NO School
Skills:
Reading- reading fluency, cause &
effect, vocabulary in context
Spelling- List 8- test W & Th
Language/writing-nouns, strong sentences
& writing in response to text

Math-SKILL- Multiplication properties,


multiplying multi-digit numbers, facts
Your child will have learning log homework 4
nights a week. Please return in folder on
Friday. Completed homework still needs to
be checked at home.***Missing assignments
are made up during activity time.
