Dear Parents,
MESSAGE OF THE WEEK
I would like to wish you all a happy New Year and very much wish you all the very best as we start the term again
this week! I hope that it will be a very successful term as it will be, undoubtedly, another busy one. Please look
below at the diary dates so that you can carry out a little forward planning.
GREEN TEAM WINNERS OF THE MERIT CUP
Green Team are welcome to wear their own clothes this Friday owing to their success of winning the Merit Cup last
term. Well done Greens!
ATHLETICS TEAM PRACTISE MONDAY 9
TH
1.15PM
Owing to their success last term in achieving a place in the district finals, the Athletics Team will be taken to Lostock
Hall Academy on Monday afternoon at 1pm to have a practise before the final event. If any parents are able to
support by offering their child a lift, please contact Mr Shields. Many thanks indeed.
PTFA MEETING TUESDAY 10
TH
JANUARY 6PM
The PTFA will be holding their first meeting of the term at 6pm in Junior School staffroom. Parents or grandparents
are most welcome to attend. The PTFA were responsible for raising in the region 5000 last term through the events
held last term alone. This is a tremendous effort and a real feather in their cap to raise their reserve. Any support you
are willing to offer this intrepid team would be welcomed!
BARNARDOS FUNDRAISING
Following the lovely junior carol service held at the end of last term, I am really delighted that your support raised
119.40 linked to our Year 5 children dressing as Victorians after their history learning last term. Thank you very much
for supporting the childrens efforts.
GROWTH MINDSET TRAINING FOR PARENTS
Children will be introduced to the concept of developing a more positive mindset at the start of this term. Parents
th
are more than welcome to attend an awareness session at 2pm on Monday 9 in the Junior Hall. This has had a real
impact with schools who have adopted this approach, helping develop their childrens persistence and positivity to
learning and challenges that occur in their wider life. As a result, schools have been able to raise their level of success
considerably and their childrens achievement.
