    SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

    I. OBJECTIVES
    At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
    a. Defines the two different Clauses.
    b. Identify the two clauses in a given sentence.
    c. Write an example of different clause.

    II. SUBJECT MATTER


    Topic : DIFFERENT CLAUSES
    References : English Grammar Book; pages 34-43.
    Materials : Reading Chart, Pilot Pen, Cartolina, Books

    III. PROCEDURE:
    A. Preparatory Activities
    1. Prayer
    2. Energizer (Action Song)
    3. Review
    - What was our last topic?
    4. Motivation
    - The teacher will ask for 6 students to volunteer. Each student will be
    given a piece of paper with a part of a sentence. They will each find the
    other half of the sentence to complete it.

    - Present the title of the Lesson.
    - Present the objectives of the lesson.
    - Let the students to read the lesson objectives.

    2. Discussion
    - Define what is Clause or phrase.
    - The class will be divided into four (4) groups. Each group will present
    their activity.
    Activity 1: Underline the subordinate clause and write letter S above it.
    Discuss the two types of clauses.

    - Because he ran, he was able to catch the bus.


    - As the lights dim, I will say goodbye.
    Activity 2: Underline the main clause and write letter M above it.
    Explain the two types of clauses.

    - Wherever he might go, I will follow him.


    - If the dress is on sale, she will buy it.

    Activity 3: Underline the subordinate clause and write letter S above it.
    Discuss the two types of clauses.

    - Unless you have the right size, don’t try it on.

    Directions: Underline the subordinate clause in each sentence below.

    1. In Ancient Rome, people didn’t marry because they were in love.


    2. Folks married in order that they could carry on the family bloodline and for economic or
    political reasons.
    3. Men generally waited until they were more established in life.
    4. Although marriages of teenagers were quite common, other countries did not readily accept
    the trend.
    5. It was during the middle ages when the practice of teen marriages was very common.
