Course Outline
This Training Course is designed to provide AGL engineering and management personnel with both practical
and classroom sessions to help improve airfield AGL programming maintenance efficiency and teach the
practical setting, maintenance and sighting of airfield luminaires. The course includes the scheduled
maintenance tasks required for approach, threshold, runway, taxiway inset and elevated luminaires, PAPI
Units and Constant Current Regulars (CCR’s). This training programme helps delegates to produce and record
airfield maintenance schedules and how to monitor these activities correctly.
Airport Engineers involved in the sighting, installation and maintenance of Airfield Ground Lighting.
Civil & Main Contractors involved in AGL systems, maintenance and installations.
Airfield and Airside Operations Managers involved in establishing AGL maintenance programmes.
What is Covered?
Statutory AGL Maintenance Practices, Protocols and Procedures.
Establishing the correct AGL maintenance programmes for airfields.
The correct maintenance procedures of AGL elevated & inset luminaries.
Sighting, Setting, Maintenance and Calibration of PAPI units.
Maintenance Tasks and Schedules required for Constant Current Regulators (CCR’s).

We offer 3 different training package solutions.
Course Duration
4 days – Residential at Airfield Training Company HQ in Harrogate.
4 days – Onsite Training at Your Premises (worldwide).
Please Note: This course has night time sessions set for the delegates to complete.
Certification
Having successfully passed practical and classroom tests during the 3 days of the Training Programme each
delegate will receive an Airfield Training Company ‘Airfield Ground Lighting Maintenance Course (AGL2)
Certification’ which is endorsed by the CAA. The overall performance and contributions of each delegate will
monitored by the Training Manager or Training Team over the 3 days and contribute to a final individual
certification score.
