    What is and History

    Art nouveau is an art form that flourished in 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United states.
    Art Nouveau was aimed at modernizing design, artist drew inspiration from both organic and
    geometric forms. Art nouveau ended shortly when the 20th century modernist replaced it with newer
    styles, although art nouveau never officially ended, it is now considered an important movement
    historicism of neoclassicism and modernism.

     Artur Heygate Mackmurdo Beardsley’s highly decorative prints, such as the peacock
     Henri de Toulouse Lautrec skirt 1890, artist Aubrey Beardsley commonly uses
     Ödön Lechner arabesque lines and decorative patterns the use of these
     Gyula Pártos technique apply to early art nouveau, Beardsley had two
     Antoni Gaudi artists that influence him William Morris and Henri de
     Josep Maria Jujol Toulouse Lautrec these two artist both use the application
     Gustav Klimt of art nouveau for example William Morris uses art
    decorative technique.
    Legacy of art nouveau
    Art nouveau has become an inspiration for many artists such as Peter Max whose evocation of a
    dreamy, psychedelic alternative experience recall the imaginative, ephemeral, and free flowing
    aesthetic world of the century. Art nouveau would prove influential in the 1960s and 70s to designers
    and artist because of the unique style and the free flowing, uncontrolled linear qualities. Art nouveau
    is recognized from the start as an important step in the development of modernism in both art and
    architecture. Art nouveau is a decorative style recognised by its sinuous, curvilinear forms often based
    on the exaggeration of vines, flowers and foliage.
