III. PASSIVE VOICE


Passive Voice (Kalimat Pasif) adalah kalimat yang subject-nya dikenai suatu
pekerjaan atau menderita suatu. Dengan kata lain subject kalimat tersebut menjadi
sasaran kegiatan yang dinyatakan oleh kata kerja. Dalam bahasa indonesia ciri-ciri
kalimat pasif adalah kata kerjanya yang berawalan dengan “di-“ dan beberapa lagi
memiliki awalan “ter-“ (tergantung pada konteks kalimat).

Active Voice (Kalimat Aktif) adalah kalimat yang subject-nya berbuat sesuatau atau
melakukan suatu pekerjaan. Dalam bahasa indonesia ciri-ciri kalimat aktif adalah
kata kerjanya selalu berawalan “me-“ dan beberapa lagi memiliki awalan “ber-“.

Bentuk dari Passive Voice (kalimat pasif) adalah :

Dalam bentuk kalimat pasif, biasanya diikuti dengan frase “by”.

Contoh Passive Voice (Kalimat Passive)

Active: Jane helps Tina.


Passive: Tina is helped by Jane.

Pada kalimat pasif, Object dari kalimat aktif (Tina) berubah menjadi Subject.

Merubah Active Voice (Kalimat Aktif) ke dalam bentuk Passive Voice (Kalimat Pasif)

Tenses ACTIVE PASSIVE


Simple Present Jane helps Tina. Tina is helped by Jane.
Present Progressive Jane is helping Tina. Tina is being helped by Jane.
Present Perfect Jane has helped Tina. Tina has been helped by Jane.
Simple Past Jane helped Tina. Tina was helped by Jane.
Past Progressive Jane was helping Tina. Tina was being helped by Jane.
Past Perfect Jane had helped Tina. Tina had been helped by Jane.
Simple Future Jane will help Tina. Tina will be helped by Jane.
To Be Going To Jane is going to help Tina. Tina is going to be helped by

(Bentuk Progressive/ Continuous dari Present Perfect, Past Perfect, Future, dan Future
Perfect sangat jarang digunakan dalam bentuk kalimat pasif)

IV. THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE


Present perfect ialah suatu bentuk kalimat dalam bahasa Inggris yang
menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang telah dikerjakan ( pada masa lampau ) dan ada
hubungan dengan masa sekarang. Masa lampau bisa baru saja, tadi, kemarin,
minggu lalu, tahun lalu dan sebagainya.

Rumus:

S + Have/Has + Verbs-3 + Ket.


I, You, We, They + have + Verb-3
He, She, It + has + Verb-3
(-) S + have/has Not + V3
(?) Have/has + S + V3

Present Perfect Tense digunakan untuk:


a. Menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang terjadi pada masa lalu tetapi waktunya tidak
tertentu (tidak spesifik).
Contoh:
1. I have learned to drive
2. I have seen the movie.
b. Menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang baru saja selesai.
Contoh:
1. They have just arrived.
2. They have just finished dinner.
c. Menyatakan sesuatu perbuatan yang dimulai pada masa lalu dan berlangsung
terus sampai saat sekarang. ( Perhatikan! Past Perfect Continuous juga dipakai
untuk kondisi ini jadi harus belajar yang mana bagusnya dipakai untuk ide yang
mau diucapkan. )
Contoh:
1. We have studied English for three years.
2. I have lived in Bandung for 2 years.

V. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINOUS


Present perfect continuous tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan
suatu kejadian yang dimulai dari waktu lampau/dulu dan masih berlangsung hingga
sekarang atau masih berlanjut juga.

Rumusnya :
Positif : S + have/has + been + Ving
Negatif : S + have/has + not + been + Ving
Tanya : have/has + S + Ving

Example :
I have been waiting here since two o’clock
They have been playing since March

Menggunakan WH-question:
What have you been eating? I have been eating fish.
Where has she been sleeping? She has been sleeping in her bedroom.

VII. CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

Conditional Sentences (Kalimat Pengandaian) adalah suatu bentuk kalimat


majemuk yang dapat kita gunakan ketika kita ingin mengatakan bahwa sesuatu
tersebut adalah suatu akibat atau konsekuensi yang tergantung pada situasi lainnya.
Conditional Sentence dalam bahada inggris selalu berbentuk kalimat majemuk
(compound sentence), yaitu kalimat yang terdiri atas Main Clause (Induk Kaimat)
dan Subordinate Clause (Anak Kalimat). Pada bentuk conditional sentence ini antara
induk kalimat dengan amak kalimat dihubungkan dengan “ if (jika) ”.
 Main clause (induk kalimat) adalah bagian dari kalimat majemuk yang dapat
berdiri sendiri serta memiliki arti yang lengkap jika berpisah dari bagian yang
lain dalam kalimat majemuk.
 Subordinate Clause (anak kalimat) adalah bagian dari kalimat majemuk yang
tidak dapat berdiri sendiri seandainya berpisah dari bagian yang lain dalam
kalimat majemuk.
a) Conditional sentence type 1
Conditional sentence type 1 ini bermakna future karena akibat (main clause)
berbentuk future dan subordinate clause berbentuk simple present tense.

wujudkan, lalu kita ingin bercerita kepada teman atau orang lain.

VIII. SUBJUNCTIVE
Kalimat subjunctive adalah kalimat angan-angan yang digunakan untuk menyatakan harapan
