    XIAMETER™ OFX-8803 Fluid

    Shear stable, resin compatible silicone softener

    Applications • Imparts soft handle to many types of fabric.


    • Easily formulated into a stable microemulsion.
    • Can be applied to fabric by roller padding and jet dyeing machine exhaustion.
    • Can be applied in the same bath with resin for durable press finishing.
    • Can be applied for pigment printing fabric softening.
    • The treated fabric is less yellowing and less hydrophobic than corresponding fabric
    treated with conventional amino functional silicone.
    • The treated fabric can be evenly re-dyed after appropriate stripping.

    Description An organofunctional silicone fluid specifically designed for providing better application
    process stability and resin compatibility than conventional aminosilicone without
    compromising its softness to fabric.

    How To Use Table 1: Suggested formulation

    XIAMETER™ OFX-8803 Fluid 20
    SOFTANOL® 501 5
    SOFTANOL 902 5
    Pre-water 9.6
    Acetic acid 0.15
    Dilution Water 60.25

    1C12-14 secondary alcohol polyoxyethylene alkylether containing 5 Eos (HLB 10.5).


    2C12-14 secondary alcohol polyoxyethylene alkylether containing 9 Eos (HLB 13.3).

    Method
    1. Mix the XIAMETER OFX-8803 Fluid with the SOFTANOL 50.
    2. Charge acetic acid 0.1% and water 3.5–4.0% and mix until a phase change is
    observed.
    3. Charge 50% of the water and mix until the emulsion becomes homogeneous.
    4. Charge the SOFTANOL 90 and mix well.
    5. Charge the acetic acid 0.1% and the rest of the water and mix well.
