     Completion Operating

     vertical well WHP 116 psig


     Pump set at 8202 ft TVD
     Perfs at 9393 ft TVD
     4-1/2” Tubing (3.958”ID)
     9-5/8” casing (8.681”ID)

    Calculate TDH (ft), # of Stages, HP


    Example 1 - Bottoms Up Formulas

     Total Dynamic Head:


    TDH = Net Lift + Friction + Wellhead Pressure

     HeadNet Lift = Fluid Level


     Headfriction = Rate vs. Tubing Size & use graph
     HeadWHP = Wellhead pressure / (0.433 * SG)
    SG = 141.5 / (131.5 + API)

    Downhole flowrate (rb/d) = Qoil(stbo/d) x Bo + Qwater(stbw/d)

    Example 2 - Top Down Formulas

     Total Dynamic Head:


    TDH = ∆Ppump = Pdischarge - P intake

     Above the pump:


    Pdischarge = WHP + ∆Pgravity + ∆Pfriction (wellhead to pump)

     Pgravity = 0.433 x SG x Pump Setting Depth

     Pfriction = Rate vs. Tubing Size & use graph


    Example 2 - Top Down Formulas

    In the reservoir:
    PI = Q / (PR – Pwf ) or
    Pwf = PR – Q / PI

    Below the pump:


    P intake = P wf - ∆Pgravity - ∆Pfriction (pump to reservoir)

    Downhole flowrate (rb/d) = Qoil(stbo/d) x Bo + Qwater (stbw/d)
