Problems:
1. Two balls having radii of 6 inches and 4 inches respectively are placed in a cylindrical
container of diameter 18 inches and a depth of 24inches. If the container will be filled
with water, determine the height of water just enough to cover the two balls.
2. Find the radius of a circle inscribed in a regular pentagon of side 24 inches.
3. Determine the length of the belt that passes around two pulleys of radii 18 and 12inches
respectively whose distance between their centers is 34 inches.
4. A composite figure consists of a regular isosceles trapezoid (non-parallel sides equal)
whose lower base is 6 inches and a segment of a circle. If the non-parallel sides are
tangents to the segment at points A and B, find the area of the composite figure.
