is affected?

of chromosome material?
4. What are some possible effects of these chromosomal

C. APPLY, PRACTICE, FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT Activity 5: Discussion through powerpoint presentation The
teacher shows a normal male and female karyotype to the
class .Let the students compare the normal karyotype to some
examples of karyotypes of chromosomal abnormalities which
may result to human genetic disorders such as Down’s
syndrome, Edwards’s syndrome, Klinefelter’s syndrome and
Turners syndrome. Mention also that not all mutations are
harmful. Cite several examples of crops and animals that are
genetically engineered or modified to produce desirable traits.
D.
SUMMATIVE Activity 6 : Worksheet on Mutation ( WHAT’S WRONG WITH
ASSESSMENT ME?)
, CLOSURE Let the students answer the following worksheet. Instruction:
AND There are several types of gene mutations, those that only
REFLECTION involve one gene and therefore only one polypeptide.
