Woven Waves Towel

This reversible slip stitch pattern is great for beginners


and provides a nice woven reversible texture.

The finished product appears more complicated than it is.

MATERIALS & INFO PATTERN NOTES

Yarn: KnitPicks Dishie Solids I love slip-stitch knitting. The technique


200 yards/3.7 oz (2 balls) creates a beautiful fabric using basic stitches.
This stitch pattern is one of my faves, it’s
Gauge: 18 sts per 4”/10 cm beautiful, reversible and thick enough for a
great dishtowel.
Needles: US 7 - 4.5 mm
US 7 double-pointed needles or The I cord edging provides additional interest
circular for i-cord hook (optional) and nice finishing and the hook will keep the
towel on your cabinet and not on the floor.

PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 64 stitches with back loop method or preferred cast-on
method.

Start with the wrong side purl row. The stitch pattern is an 8-row
repeat starting with row 2.

The design has an optional i-cord edge (k1, sl 1 wyf, K1). You
can substitute a garter border, if preferred, and knit all three
stitches on both ends on RS & WS.

Row 1 (all wrong side rows): k1, sl 1 wyf, K1, Purl to last 3
stitches, sl 1 wyf, k1, sl 1 wyf

Row 2 (right side): k1, sl 1 wyf, K1, k1, * K2, sl 2wyf, repeat from
* to last 4 stitches, K1, sl 1 wyf, k1, sl 1

Row 4: k1, sl 1 wyf, K1, k1, * Sl 1 wyf, k2, sl 1 wyf, repeat from *
to last 4 stitches, K1, sl 1 wyf, k1, sl 1 wyf.

Row 6: k1, sl 1 wyf, K1, k1, * Sl 2 wyf, k2, repeat from * to last 4
stitches, K1, sl 1 wyf, k1, sl 1 wyf.
Row 8: k1, sl 1 wyf, K1, k1, * k1, sl 2 wyf, k1, repeat from * to last 4 stitches, K1, sl 1 wyf, k1,
sl 1 wyf.

Repeat Rows 2 – 9 until piece measures 17 inches, ending with a Row 9. BO

FINISH (Optional Bind-off with i-cord Hook)


BO to last three stitches. With the remaining 3 stitches, Knit on to double points or circular
needle.

Last Row: K1, k2tog, pass first stitch over second stitch and off the right needle. Cut yarn,
leaving an 8-inch tail. Pull through remaining stitch.

Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle. Make a loop with the I-cord and weave the tail into the
fabric of the washcloth at the base of the I-cord, then weave it through the looped I-cord, and
back into the fabric of the towel.

Weave in the remaining ends and block as desired.
