PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF PUBLIC SECTOR 2016

1. INTRODUCTION
Pharmacy management system that is designed to enhance the security and management
system to improve the accuracy and efficiency in pharmaceutical stores. It is a computer-
based inventory management system, the cost; the pharmacist helps to improve medical
safety, etc.
Enter a specific product or production system and the expiration date of the drug during
the opening practice allows the user to stock and sell. The system will also report
showing the expiry date of the list of products for a specific product before the end date.
And for some time, for example, upon the arrival of a new batch of monthly involves
manual entry of drugs out of medicine and pharmacy on every movement, pharmacist, eg
you can get information about drugs and the movement of drugs can create reports out of
the pharmacy, expiration date, date of purchase, No other type of drug, a drug in the
pharmacy location.
Currently, the manual system is being used in pharmacy. It is necessary to manually
inspect every drug that is available in the pharmacy pharmacist. This usually leads to
errors in the work increases pharmacist.
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Due to the size and quality of pharmacy services, pharmacy is a very large customer
base. These customers tend to visit the pharmacy closed mostly from the service to
work. During this period, the increase in the number of customers that gave shelter
to the pharmacy, so making it more tedious workload of pharmacists. In this case, a
pharmacist presents a short period of difficult customers.
The pharmacist has to ensure service solutions to their clients. The above mentioned
factors, the result of the service being offered to consumers delay, so that in the long
run the risk of losing valuable customers and sales slow.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Pharmacy management record is kept of paper filing cabinets. Paper records will be
difficult to keep track of medications in regards to a very large pharmacy store and
administrative tedious, time scale based on the trend of the expiration date, the
range of drugs available and their functions.
Pharmacist medication order is already replenish low stocks. In addition, the course
of life of drugs is being carried out manually. Figures based on the amount of time
in order to go through pharmacists stock balance and distribution is a significant
amount of the order must be written as rough estimates.
It is not supposed to be used for drugs has expired. The command to provide the
drugs for preventing and resolving the problem before the end of the project are
being sold off work for a period of medicines, the pharmacist will inform about.
1.3 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The purpose of this project will be able to achieve the following objectives, is to
develop software for effective management of a medicinal treasure:
Barcodes are often overlooked as a method to reduce costs and save time. A
valuable and viable choice for companies looking to improve efficiency and
reduce overhead, barcodes is both cost effective and reliable.

stock.
b) Maintained database of available options to update the stock of medicines.
c) Improving system performance by ensuring effective monitoring of the
activities and services.
d) To provide better management by monitoring drug list drug movement in the
pharmacy.
e) Limited access to role-based functionality and to ensure that a level exists.
f) To ensure that the system is user friendly.
g) Be able to produce a report within a specified period of time.
1.4 SCOPE AND LIMITATION
The project scope will improve health outcomes, hospital and reduce the use of one
access long-term care, care of the estate by increasing access to and the community
around and make the best use of resources, including pharmaceutical store
enterprises need computer-based management system reform, a pharmacy
functionality is limited and that any modern part of the community is constantly
evolving needs.
Drug interaction system of medicine regulation, will not be able to handle the drug.
Indicating that the situation should not be used if the system salyacikitseca a drug
in a prescription and do not ask to be able to handle many drugs at the same time;
this implies that the service itself will be completed pharmacist.
1.5 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This research method used in the project work and pharmacy stores, banks,
pharmacy, how pharmacy management system provides a description of Abuja will
be developed.
The structure and method of collection of information from diverse sources are
used as follows:

understand the mode of operation of the old system.
d) Basic information: What is the source of this book, contact the project's
development.
1.6 DEFINITION OF TERMS
System: the objective of working together is the largest collection of complex
factors at once purposeful.
Drug interactions; Both are seen together in a situation, when a liquid (usually a
drug affected the activity of another drug).
Poly pharmacy, the use of drugs that are prescribed for the treatment of several
forms of the drugs is more than medical needs of a patient are used by a patient,
especially when.

LITERATURE REVIEW

1. INTRODUCTION
A pharmacist who is a professional such patients, according to a medical doctor or other
clinician rules ordered drugs. Medicine is an in-depth knowledge of how the human
response to various drugs and chemicals, as well as how drugs interact with each other
(Charles E. Rosenberg, 1980). Pharmacists are required to accurately measure and
package the drug, the dose and ensure the safety of a patient to be seen by the right. While
pharmacists prescribe drugs or do not choose, especially, pharmacist how to take the
medicine and patient education about what the reaction will be prevented or problem.
As medication experts, pharmacists and disease state management of drug-related cases
are related to the distribution and use of public health protection. Pharmacists play an
important role in improving the care of patients through providing them with medicine.
2.1 PHARMACY PRACTICE IN THE PAST
This gives an overview of the events that have occurred both in the past and the current
practice of pharmacy, through the ages, and also show many possible events in the
future.
2.2 THE FUTURE OF PHARMACY
For anything that streamlines and automatic dispensing and distribution process
will obviously medical and free pharmacists to play a more complete automation,
this aid, "James Owen, S. Pham, Pham, Director of the American Association of
pharmacists professional practice (AShP).
Low cost of just law, embracing technology, and patient counselling, vaccination ,,
education, and must find a way to put their medical skills to increase profit margins
by focusing more attention on other natural offshoots, pharmacists and pharmacies
tomorrow. Some experts predict that the pharmacy pharmacists are qualified to
deliver the future will always embrace the skills and medical care.
Today there are so many pharmacies are convenient technical options available. As
the health system is digital, the most exciting thing is the ability to be more
connected to the activities of pharmacists more time with patients and patient-
cantered. "

2.2.1 Categories of Some of the technologies in the future are:

a) Clinical decision support resources.
b) error prevention and quality assurance.
c) Bar-coding and even radio-frequency identification technology development
will help to verify the proper use of drugs pharmacists.
d) Telecommunications infrastructure. For example, a patient taking meds or
measure blood glucose levels will be able to send a text message reminder.
Good self-care management will conduct.
e) Collaborative Practice connectivity, electronic prescription (e-law) and the
ability to achieve through a combination of laboratory and physician offices
to connect and exchange data.
f) Support service delivery, route, tracking, order status, send, place, and
oversight, using GPS-driven telecommunications system.
g) Pharmacy surveillance and security system, pharmacists are off-site, and
pharmacies will create a great level of security.
It does not lose the ability to handle the step up to the challenge of the drug is
important medications, and this would mean the loss of some of their most
precious good and patient.
Pharmacies many companies to increase efficiency by managing workflow
software and hardware sales.
Pharmacists will play a significant role in making contributions to the care of
patients, and this contribution will be documented using broadcast technology
and using technology, and they care EHR (electronic health record) will be
recorded in the future. Will be an integral member of the team is related to the
care of patients as far as pharmacists. "
Improved care and reduced errors will be cornerstones of the relationship
between pharmacists and automation.
2.3 BENEFITS OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

3. INTRODUCTION
The system is intended to work together to achieve a largest collection of components at
once. Measures recommended analyzing the information system development or system
analysis systematic study or testing the system in order to identify the problem by using
the phase system.
System components and system design is an abstract description of the functionality and
performance of their relationship and presentation system. The design is also being asked
how the system's overall plan or scheme to get the answer to that question. Which
specifies the various types of design approach?

3.1 SYSTEM ANALYSIS

Systems analysis is the study of a set of interfaces, including computer systems
analysis companies. Research in this area is closely related to the operation or
requirements analysis. It is also "Finding a good course a distinct formal investigation
Someone action and good judgment than might have otherwise. Management analysis
carried out to support a mechanism that involves the systematic method of application
to gather facts about the existing system of development or resources available in
reference to the purpose of replacing a more efficient system. in other words, the
system can also be seen as a process of analysis using the information to recommend
a system to investigate, identify problems and improve the system.

3.1.1 ANALYSIS OF EXISTING SYSTEM

We need to highlight the problem carefully to avoid a repeat of the existing
system, before analyzing the composition of the proposed system. By this
analysis, the proposed system to monitor the movement of the drug in the state
and serves as a pointer to the pharmacy pharmacist how to begin building
management will help to provide a list of good medicine. The current system
should be outlined problem. Below are the problems associated with the
existing system;
a) A significant amount of time to go through the remaining stock and the
pharmacist must be rough estimates based on the sequence numbers are
allocated to the amount of the order of writing.
b) The state is checked manually drugs in stock.
c) Expired medicines sold to consumers mistake.
d) Staff work very
e) Paper filing cabinet in the pharmacy records.

3.1.2 ANALYSIS OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

Implementation of the existing system problems listed, will focus on the
proposed system;

6
PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF PUBLIC SECTOR 2016

a) Pharmacists having access to the proposed system at any time.

b) Ensures the availability of effective drugs policy to the figures provided in
the stock.
c) Improving system performance by ensuring effective monitoring of the
activities and services.
d) The report produced within a specified period of time.
3.2 REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION
The need to develop adequate preliminary investigation plays an important role. Its'
existing system or replacing an existing system using the existing system works and
how this leads to the fact gathered at the preliminary investigation that focused on
the possibility of improving as a result of a thorough investigation. This work
involves gathering information.
3.2.1 METHOD OF INFORMATION GATHERING
The fact that the gathering of information from various sources in order to
enable the project to get ready for collection. Data were collected through a
number of designing the system used. The structure and method of collection
of information from diverse sources are used as follows:
a) Collect and written by various experts project the existing literature on the
subject, to be analyzed.
b) Details of the present system and the study of organizational style.
c) Because we know and understand the existing system input and output
process.
d) Interview: Interview with a qualitative form the necessary equipment, and
know that the old system was conducted in the pharmacy operation mode.
e) Primary data: This is what this project is the development of
communication textbook resources.
3.3 SYSTEM DESIGN
System architecture, components, modules, communication system designed to meet
the specific needs through modelling, and data interpretation process. As we can see
the development of the theory of the formation of the system application. This
system will facilitate the design. It will be designed in such a way that it will be able
to easily navigate through the information given to employees on the system.
In other words, the system is designed to include the activities required to produce
useful feature of the system was developed in a satisfactory system design analysis
process. The system will indicate how the system design. The system is designed to
analyze the implementation of the structural system.

The figure is gathering on the project planning project, which requires the design,
project implementation and interface design, implementation and system testing, and
maintenance of the system, five different phases are to be improved, there is a system
development life cycle is broken down to explain how.
Banks Pharmacy and the pharmacy management system stores the proposed system
users to determine the project will begin planning, the project aims and objectives.
After this, extensive research on how to design an effective system, and will be
determined by a review of the current system. Then, the system was designed for
initial sample, and then refined it based on their suggestions. Users and designers
agree the final details of the system until the analysis, design and implementation
phases were iteratively. At this point, the final implementation phase of the project
can move.
3.4 SYSTEM MODELLING
The system requirements and design activities, and system components that this
component can be set as a contact. The reader system generally living in a group
vileleaheta model gives an overview of the system architecture. The system helps to
more detailed system specifications, which are in the form of a system or a graphical
presentation is to develop a modelling solution that can describe the problem. Used
for the graphical representation, natural language models are often described in detail
the system required more than understandable. Examples of such systems is the
flowchart modelling tool.

SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

4. INTRODUCTION
The system has been installed and ready for use in the implementation of the system is a
system whereby developed a new stage in the life cycle. And the need for all the details of
this phase is the point practicalizes specification. As the implementation of the system,
which determines the success of the new system is a very important stage of its large-
scale success. At this event, then the execution is all said and systems (pharmacy
management system) are to be prepared properly.
System activities to achieve organizational objectives, design, service procedures and
equipment are mainly used to coordinate the relationship. Data input and output data,
process and dialogue addresses.
At this point involves a case study pharmacy management structure of the new system.
4.1 CHOICE OF PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE
Choosing a programming language and the language of your experience depends on
the scope of the application you created. The small applications are often created by
using the same language, it is unusual to develop a large number of applications
using the language.
Put the application to be built on a web-based application that requires Internet
access to work, but not a separate application.
PHP started out as a small open source project that evolved as more and more people
found out how useful it was. Rasmus Lerdorf unleashed the first version of PHP way
back in 1994.
PHP is a recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor".
PHP is a server side scripting language that is embedded in HTML. It is used to
manage dynamic content, databases, session tracking, even build entire e-commerce
sites.
It is integrated with a number of popular databases, including MySQL, Oracle,
Sybase, Informix, and Microsoft SQL Server.
PHP is pleasingly zippy in its execution, especially when compiled as an Apache
module on the UNIX side. The MySQL server, once started, executes even very
complex queries with huge result sets in record-setting time.
4.2 SYSTEM TESTING AND DEBUGGING
Software testing is an integral part of the development process. They need to ensure
that the trial is to concentrate on the integration and application of the test to ensure
that the quality system is the ability to work in an effective and Troubleshooting
section of the program will not be compromised.
The fixing of errors detected during the implementation of the program is what
debugging. The system deals with real-life test system, to ascertain how much has
been expected in carrying out the work.
This was carried out in two phases. Number one is to test the program logic test
source code. Secondly, the details of the test and the test system should be given to
10
PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF PUBLIC SECTOR 2016

specific conditions regarding how to do it, which. It collects data and inputting the
output of the assessment is to see this product compared to the old system and
whether it can replace the old system.
4.3 SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION
The document is an important aspect of the system implementation process. This
parameter describes the work as a method of communication between users and
application developers. It also helps analyze the same or a different system analysts
and developers in the future, either in the application.
4.4 HARDWARE REQUIREMENT

a) at least , 20 gigabytes of hard disk space

b) The size of Ram is 1 GB
c) Pentium 4 dual processor CPU
d) A VGA colour monitor
e) Keyboard
f) Mouse
g) Etc.
4.5 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT
a) Windows operating system.
b) P.H.P
c) MYSQL
4.6 DATABASE SPECIFICATION
Detailed data are recorded and stored in a database or data which is at least twice as a
file that is not in. The data is consistent and controlled bridge construction. A good
database for all users must be independent of the program and use it to create a
common product.
However, the system was used as a Microsoft Access database management system
database application tool. Database management system is only limited database
administrator (admin). The system designer / developer / programmer and is
responsible for maintaining the database and when the entire software update.
4.7 SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Maintenance is a continuous process of making modifications and upgrading the application.
This usually commences after the application has gone into use. There are two different
ways by which this application can be maintained. They include:
 Additive or Enhancement maintenance: Business processes are dynamic. As business
processes change, applications that support these processes must evolve to reflect these
changes. Thus, for this application to perform optimally and to meet changing user
requirements, it must be modified continuously.
 Corrective maintenance: This is required in the event that an error occurred when the
application is in use. Corrections must be made to changes discovered that can cause
malfunctioning of the system.
