OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this method statement is to safely remove the HVAC duct, copper pipes
& associated fittings work by meeting the technical specification and complying with
Standards.
SCOPE:
The scope of this method statement includes removal of ceiling HVAC ducting, copper
pipes & associated fittings with reference to the Plan, Service Delivery documents,
Barclay’s safety standard and As Built.

SAFETY PRECAUTION:
Induction to all the personnel involved by Group A safety manager/Supervisor.
Toolbox talks will be conduct prior to start of work by floor site supervisor in the
presence of Site Engineer/Safety Office/Site Supervisors
Work permit system to be followed.
Use of appropriate PPE’s (Helmets, safety shoes, goggles, nose mask, insulated
hand gloves).
No other work is carried out under or the periphery during removing of HVAC
ducting or copper piping.
Barricading the work area with display of safety sign boards.
1. Ensure Medical certificate all workers and staff.
2.Ensure declaration should not have any travel history or symptoms relevant to
COVID 19.
PROCEDURE:
General:
Inspection of tools and tackles by Group A HSE team prior to start the work.
CBRE check list to be followed
Take clearance from services (MEP) before start of work. (E.g.: -power isolation
and Make sure LOTO system to be followed).
Wearing the full body harness and using scaffolding, the worker will climb up
and reach the ducting height.
Worker will remove the screw from the ducting using battery operated drill
machine or screw driver.
The ducting will be dismantled at the existing join distance.
The ducting will remain as is basis on the existing suspended clams.
2 workers standing on the scaffolding will pass on the ducting down manually
using hand.
2 co-workers standing below will collect the ducting and place it on the floor.

The ducting will be further broken using a hammer and then stacked at one
designated area by maintaining safe distance from the glass façade.
Copper pipes will be cut using Hexa blade. The cut pipes will be stacked at
designated area.
This work area will be properly barricaded, and safety sinages are displayed at
the staging area.
Emergency access should kept obstruction free.
After removing the ducting, copper pipes and suspended rods housekeeping is
done to keep the area clean.
