IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction (1day)
Singing English to Tagalog song:

As an introduction let us first sing the english to tagalog song.

 The teacher will show an example of dictionary, then the students


will answer what they have observed on the dictionary.

 The teacher will explain the importance of a dictionary.


 A dictionary is a very important tool for anyone who is
learning a new language. With a good dictionary you can do
the following:

- look up the meaning of an English word you see or hear


- find the English translation of a word in your language
- check the spelling of a word
- check the plural of a noun or past tense of a verb
- find out other grammatical information about a word
- find the synonym or antonym of a word
- look up the collocations of a word
- check the part of speech of a word
- find out how to say a word
- find out about the register of a word
- find examples of the use of a word in natural language
B. Development • The teacher will post the story in her screen, wherein some
( 1 day) English words will be translated into Filipino words.

“Books”

Books are our good friends. They make us happy


(masaya). Some tell nice stories and poems. Others teach
beautiful (maganda)songs. Still, others teach us many
things about the world (mundo).
Books live long if we take good care of them. We
should not tear (punitin) or write on their pages.

 The teacher will ask her students;


- Which of the word in the story was translated in
Filipino?
- Which are considered as good friends?

- What do books do for us?

- What are found in books?

- What should we do to make books live long?

The Magic Boxes:


 The teacher will prepare two box. One for the words that the
students will have to translate. Then the other box is for the
students’ name.
 The teacher will pick one in the box A for the words, then
after she will pick one in another box. The student who
called will translate the word.
C. Engagement Matchy Matchy:
(1 day)  Match the Tagalog words in Column A with the correct
English words in Column A.

 Identify the objects in each picture. Write their equivalent in


Tagalog.

 Supply the missing word to complete each sentence.

(1 Day) Remember:
Tagalog is the mother tongue for most children in CALABARZON.
This serves as our first language. The English language serves as
our second language.
