1. Analyze the diagram below. Discuss the concepts and components involved in the
illustration using 5 to 7 sentences.

a. Which part of the computer stores data?

- Memory is the primary component of a computer that stores data and instructions for
processing. This component enables data storage within a computer system. Hard
disk drives and compact disk drives are examples of such equipment.

b. Which part of the diagram moves data between the computer and its external
environment?
- In general, input/output (I/O) systems transmit data between the computer's main
memory and the outside world or external environment. I/O is a collaborative effort
of both hardware and software. This is a device that serves as a link between a
computer system and other computer peripheral devices.

c. Which component in the diagram holds the control unit?

- In the diagram, the CPU is the major component that holds the control unit. The
control unit is regarded as the computer's nervous system since it assembles the
computer in their manner, which is why it has interaction with the internal bus.

d. Which part of the central processing unit performs the computer’s data processing
functions?
- The figure indicates that the ALU, or Arithmetic/Logic Unit, is connected to the
internal bus as it performs and executes arithmetic or logical instructions directly to
the computer's control unit. ALU also controls and executes the actual data operation.

e. What particular component can be utilized to facilitate the transmission of data within
the central processing unit?
- Internal buses make data transfer within the CPU easier. This sort of data bus is used
within a computer system. This component acts as a link between the registers and
ALU and the Control unit.

2. Search for different related literatures about computer organization and deduce at least
(3) fundamental functions of a computer. Describe each function using 2 to 3 sentences
only. Properly cite your references.

- Data storage refers to the process of keeping and accessing a large amount of data in a
secure and organized manner. It can be done in various ways such as CDs and DVDs,
floppy disks, and removable media.
- Data Processing is a process utilized to collect, manipulate, and transform large
amounts of data. It is a series of operations carried out by a computer to extract, store,
and retrieve information.
- The data must be permanently stored in the computer so that it may be accessed when
temporarily processing data. The role of data storage is critical to the proper operation
of computer systems.

3. Explore different compilers available in the industry today. Then, give at least three (3)
compilers compatible with Windows operating system. Provide a short description and
the corresponding reference for each compiler

- C# continues to be one of the most popular and widely used programming languages
in the world. Favored by millions for its versatility and easy-to-read syntax, the
programming language has quickly become a go-to for web and mobile apps, game
development
- Java features that are pretty nice, but on the other hand, it shows weakness. Partly in
the process, as this is a set of features that should be just built-in.
- C++ is a very popular language for performance-critical applications that rely on
speed and efficient memory management. It’s used in a wide range of industries
including software and game development, VR, robotics, and scientific computing.
