House Layout or Design
Upon reading articles about design metaphors, analogies, and similes;
Metaphors facilitate the understanding of an unfamiliar situation in terms of a known situation. By means of metaphors, it is possible to make reference to what is clearly understood in order to elucidate the unknown. Basically for any one individual metaphor in design is predicated on a personal encounter of both sense and mind, it approached the view of an object as it is perceived by the human senses.
The planning and design of our house is usually a type of Filipino house layout, a design that built metaphor as being technical and practical. A simple and minimal design just enough for five family members, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The two bedrooms are of the same sizes, except for the master’s bedroom, having a bigger size. Perfectly fit in the number of rooms and chairs, and having a bathroom near the dining area like a typical Filipino house.

Designers use the term “references” to mean objects from the natural and artificial world that inform their designs, for example, the front elevation of our house is metaphorically perceived as a Yacht. Also, our house is in the color of sky blue; whereas according to some readings, it produces an effect of calmness, by slowing your heart rate and respiration as well as lowering blood pressure. It also helps you think more clearly and be more productive.
