The regular meeting of the Hughesville Borough Council was called to order by Council President Fritz Newhart,
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approve Minutes –.April 14, 2008 Tom Eddy moved, seconded by Cindy Shaner. Motion passed.
Solicitor’s Report – J. Howard Langdon filed a counter suit against Lee Daye. Judge Raup is presiding at the June 3,
2008 hearing. Dale Cahn and Fritz Newhart will attend.
Police Report – Chief Shear said that there were 42 incidents in April. Report attached
Public Works Report – Dale Cahn said that the paving bids will be opened at the next COG meeting; hopes to do
curbing on Cottage Street this year; will check with the COG if we can pick & choose for stone bids.
Gannon Associates has added 3rd pump house to insurance; the County and Township have approved the plans. Next
week WT Supervisors will have PPL move electric to a pole along the new road instead of on the corner of the Zohnis
property.

Business –
A resolution to approve Muncy Bank and Trust for a $500,000.00 Line of Credit with the Hughesville
Borough Authority as set forth in the Commitment Letter. Richard Smith, Chairman and Michael Bieber,
Secretary will sign. Bob Carichner moved and Tom Eddy seconded. Motion passed.
Roll Call: Carichner – Y; Crier – Y; Newhart – Y; Shaner – Y; Eddy – Y.
Solicitor Langdon will look into the possibly of a gas lease on the Water Company land.
Council considering tree trimming on Main Street and replacing some trees.
Red Hats Club could not fill all the flower boxes in town because they are also planting flowers at Lime Bluff
Park.
Council goes into closed session to discuss personnel matters 7:40 PM. Reopened at 8:42. A motion was
made to give part-timer Ted Shaner a $1.00 increase retroactive to January 1 by Cindy Shaner, seconded by Tom
Eddy. Motion passed.
