INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING PLAN

Unit Topic: The Real Number System (1 Week)

Sub-Topic: (Subsets of Real Numbers)

(Grade 7 - Tarsier)
(Grade 7 - Mooncat)

Content Standard:

 Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sets and the real number system.

Performance Standard:

 Is able to formulate challenging situations involving sets and real numbers and solve these in a
variety of strategies.

Learning Competencies:

 Illustrates the different subsets of real numbers.

 Arranges real numbers in increasing or decreasing order and on a number line.

Transfer Goal:

 The students on their own and in the long run will be able to perform independently the
knowledge and skills on estimating square root and plotting irrational numbers for the application
in different situations involving square root.

Essential Questions:

1. Are all real numbers real?

2. Why do we need to study real numbers?
3. Why is it important to represent real numbers?

Enduring Understanding:

The student will be able to understand that real numbers are rational and irrational numbers,
understanding real numbers will help solve real-life problems, and numerical representations show real
numbers and their relationships.
