I – Warm-up
1. Change your virtual backgrounds to the pictures you were asked to prepare in the last

2. Discuss and answer the question: What are some popular travelling destinations in
Vietnam?
Try to list as many as you can.
II – Vocabulary boost
Exercise 1: Listen to the recording and fill in the blanks with a word or phrase. Then guess what each
word/phrase means.

I’m finally free after and extremely tiring I got some travel brochures with details of
journey! The flight was three hours late, they camping trips. Want to meet for lunch to look
lost my luggage, then there were no taxis at the at them? One of them is in Chile, but it’s a long

III – Practice speaking
Exercise 1: Discuss these questions with your partner.
1. Do you like trying the local cuisine when travelling to other regions?
2. When travelling, do you like to have an itinerary or would you prefer to find your own way?
3. If you had to choose, would you rather go on a cruise or a coach tour?
4. What is better: travelling in a group or going on your own?
Exercise 2: Look at these items below that someone might take with them on a camping trip. Put
them in order of how useful they are (1 = most useful, 8 = least useful). Then, discuss your answer
with a partner, give reasons for your choices.

Exercise 3: Spend 2-3 minutes preparing the questions below and take turn to answer them.
1. What kind of places do you like to travel to?
2. Do you like to travel in your holidays or free time?
Now listen to the sample answer twice and note some of the words, phrases or structures that you
find useful.
Exercise 4: Look at the cue card below and brainstorm some ideas:
Describe a place you would like to visit in the future
You should say:
- where this place is
- how you know about it
- what this place looks like
- and explain why you would like to visit this place
Now read a sample answer from the screen. Then tell the whole class what you think about this
answer & what you can learn from it.
Exercise 5: Make a brief outline for the following question:
Describe a short trip that you usually make (or, take) but dislike
You should say
- where you travel from and to

- how often you make this trip
- why you make this trip
- and explain why you dislike this trip
