Task 3
1.
Do you agree that companies have a debt to society apart from paying taxes
and obeying the law?
I do agree that companies have a debt to society apart from paying taxes and
obeying the law. The reason for this is that companies are not only
contributing to the economy, but they are also impacting society in many
ways. The company’s responsibility to society does not stop at paying taxes
and obeying the law. Companies need to be aware of their social and
environmental impacts and not just focus on profits. A company that is
committed to the environment could invest in renewable energy sources or
use recycled products.
Do you agree that by concentrating on making profits, companies are
contributing enough to society?
The answer to this question is no. Companies should not just concentrate on
making profits and neglect society. They need to also be responsible for the
society they are operating in and make sure that they are treating their
employees well, not polluting the environment, and contributing to the
community.
Do you agree that managers should concentrate on making profits rather
than CSR?
Yes, I agree with the statement. Because profit is the main factor to consider
when evaluating a company's success and reputation in the now and the
future. Profitability will be used as a metric to assess a company's worth and
stage of development. Additionally, it aids in attracting overseas investors
and companies. As evidence, VinUni collaborates with Cornell and
Pennsylvania, two of the top colleges in the United States, to raise
educational standards.
2. What relationship do you think there IS between CSR and corporate culture?
=> Corporate culture and CSR are two concepts that go hand-in-hand. They are
both important aspects of a company's identity.
Corporate culture is the set of beliefs and behaviours that are shared by members
of an organization. Corporate culture is one way to express a company's values to
the world.
