A. Check an existing policy on teaching and learning assessment in the Philippine

education and note some issues and concern about its weaknesses and come up
with policy or proposal and or recommendation to strengthen the assessment in
current situation.

First let know what is assessment policy, the Assessment Policy is to help pupils
know what they are doing well and what they need to do to improve. The
knowledge gained will be used to inform teaching and to direct learning .
I gather some information regarding of some issue is Social divide – There is no
fair learning access in the country. Lack of resources – Large-scale shortfalls in
classrooms, teachers, and other tools to sustain sound learning also make up a
big issue.
There are some steps you can take to improve your departmental/program
assessment to make it as meaningful as possible.

B. State your point on the importance of TOS as Initial activity before the test
construction?
The table of specifications (TOS) is a tool used to ensure that a test or assessment
measures the content and thinking skills that the test intends to measure. Thus, when
used appropriately, it can provide response content and construct, validity evidence. A
TOS may be used for large-scale test construction, classroom-level assessments by
teachers, and psychometric scale development. It is a foundational tool in designing
tests or measures for research and educational purposes.

The primary purpose of a TOS is to ensure alignment between the items or elements of
an assessment and the content, skills, or constructs that the assessment intends to
assess.

C. List and discuss some techniques and strategies we have discuss in test
construction.
Most tests are a form of summative assessment; that is, they measure students’
performance on a given task. (For more information on summative assessment, see
the CITL resource on formative and summative assessment.)
- Essay Exam – Essay tests let students display their overall understanding of a
topic and demonstrate their ability to think critically, organize their thoughts,
and be creative and original.
- Multiple Choice - Multiple choice questions can be difficult to write, especially if
you want students to go beyond recall of information, but the exams are easier to
grade than essay or short-answer exams. On the other hand, multiple choice exams
provide less opportunity than essay or short-answer exams for you to determine how
well the students can think about the course content or use the language of the
discipline in responding to questions.
- True or false – is also alternative-response questions, are used to assess a student's
ability to determine whether a statement is correct
-Enumeration - Enumeration aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the
objective. Using active connections to systems, a penetration tester attempts to
locate legitimate user accounts or inadequately protected shared resources during
this phase.

D. List atleast 5 types of assessment and discuss them one by one.

1. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT - Formative assessment, also known as
formative evaluation, formative feedback, or assessment for learning, also
refers to a variety of formal and informal assessment processes used by
teachers to change their teaching and learning strategies and raise student
achievement and it’s refers to a broad range of techniques that teachers
employ to conduct ongoing assessments of their students' understanding,
educational needs, and progress during a lesson, unit, or course.
2. SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT - The evaluation of participants where the
focus is on the results of a program is known as summative assessment,
summative evaluation, or assessment of learning. This is in contrast to
formative evaluation, which highlights participants' growth at a certain
period. At the end of a specific educational session, such as a project, unit,
course, semester, program, or school year, summative evaluations are used
to measure students' learning, skill development, and academic
accomplishment.
3. Criterion Referenced Assessment - Criterion referenced assessment (CRA)
is the practice of assessing (and grading) students' learning in relation to a
list of predetermined attributes or criteria, without consideration of
others' accomplishments.
4. DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT - A learner's existing knowledge base or
current views on a topic or issue to be studied in the course are determined
by a set of written questions (multiple choice or short answer) known as
diagnostic assessments.
5. NORM REFERENCED ASSESSMENT - An evaluation that uses a "bell
curve" to rate pupils according to their performance is referred to as a
"normal-referenced assessment." This approach is used to determine how
kids' test results compare to those of a predetermined group with similar
backgrounds.
