    The Legend Of Crying Stone

    Once upon a time, on a hill far from Country. There lived a poor widow with her
    daughter. Her daughter from the widow is very beautiful, she is always proud of the
    beauty she has. However, her beauty was not the same as the nature she had. She is very
    lazy and never helps her mother. Besides being lazy, she is also very spoiled. Everything
    she wants must be obeyed without thinking that they are poor, and her mothers who
    have to work hard even though she is often sick. However everytime his mother took
    her to the rice fields, she is always refused.
    One day, the mother took her daughter to shop at the market. The distance of the
    market from their house is so far, to get to the market they have to walk, that make her
    daughter very tired. The daughter walked in front of her mother and was wearing very
    nice clothes. Everyone who saw her was immediately amazed and admired by her
    beauty, however her mother walked behind her with carrying a shopping basket and
    dressed very dirty like a maid. Because the location of their house is far from the
    community, no one knows their lived in that village. Then, after they entered the village,
    all eyes were on the beauty of the widow’s daughter. Many young men approached her
    and looked at her face. However, the villagers were very curious as to who the old
    woman was behind. “Hi, cute girl! Who is the old woman behind you? Is she your
    mother?” Asked a young man. “Of course not, she’s just a maid!” She replied
    sarcastically. Throughout the trip, every time they met the villagers, they always asked
    the same thing. But, she kept answering that her mother was her maid. Her own mother
    was treated as a maid. At first, the mother could still hold back every time she heard an
    answer from her own daughter. However, after many times she heard that, she can’t
    hold it anymore because that was very painful for her heart, it make her mother
    stopped, and sat on the side of the road, make her shedding her tears. “Mom, why did
    you stop halfway? Let’s continue the trip” Asked her daughter in surprise. Several
    times she asked, her mother did not answer at all. Instead, the mother raised her hands
    up and prayed. Seeing the strange things that her mother did, the daughter felt
    confused. “Mom, what are you doing now?!” The daughter snapped. Her mother still
    did not answer, and continued her pray to punish her own daughter. “Oh God, forgive
    this weak servant, forgive me who cannot educate my own daughter, and make she
    becomes a disobedient child. Punish this disobedient child” Her mother prayed.
    Suddenly, the sky became cloudy and dark, it started to rained and the lightning
    started to strike. Slowly, her body turned into a stone. Her feet began to turn into a
    stone and were already halfway up. The girl cried begging for forgiveness from her
    mother. “Mother, help me. What happened to my leg? Mother, please forgive me. I
    promise I will be a good child mom” her daughter shouted in fear. The girl kept crying
    and begging. However, it was too late. The punishment was unavoidable. Her entire
    body slowly turned into a stone. The girl just cried and cried regretting her actions.
    Before her head turned into a stone, the mother still saw her tears coming out. Everyone
    who was there witnessed that incident until the girl’s entire body turned into a stone.
    Even though it has become a stone, her eyes still shed tears like she was crying.
    Therefore, the community calls it the Crying Stone. The Crying Stone is still there until
    now.
