1 General Information
Purpose of this chapter:
1.1 Introduction
1.1.1 About Vinno
Vinno is focusing on producing premium diagnostic ultrasound
development to provide customer clinical value through Continuous
Innovation, Excellent Performance and Accessible Solutions.
Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is one of the oldest living tree species in the
world and its leaves are among the most extensively studied medicinal
herbs in use today. In some Asian Countries, it is the tradition of
grandfathers to plant a Ginkgo Biloba tree for their grandsons’ birth.
The tree matures and bears fruits when the grandson is of marrying
age. Just as the tree is expected to have a lengthy lifespan, it is hoped
that the grandson will also have a long, fruitful life.

covers. Check DCDC and ATX power light. If DCDC is not lit, that means
it is not energized by Breaker. Replace DCDC. If ATX is not lit, that
means ATX is not energized by DCDC, replace it or DCDC.
5. If every LED is lit, check DCDC output to ATX. And short connect
power signal cable on DCDC, replace the corresponding PWA

If the Vinno system does not start when you press the PC’s power
button, proceed the following steps:

7.2.4 System cannot scan
If the system cannot scan, try the following steps to find the root
cause.
2. If the name is correct, go check the image is active or not. And if the
image is not active; press “Freeze” key to see if this key is working or
not.
3. If the name of the probe is not correct, change another probe for a
try. If it the probe name remains wrong, insert the probe into another
probe socket. If the name becomes correct, change TT PWA.
4. If the name of the probe remains wrong, replace all the PWA for
trying in the following sequence: TT PWA, T-main PWA.

7.2.5 Touch panel works well and LCD monitor has no display
If Touch panel works well and LCD monitor has no display, try the
following steps to solve this issue.
2. If it is not lit, check the LCD connections. If it is still not lit, check the
input voltage (12VDC). If it has no input voltage, replace DCDC. If it has
input voltage, try to connect an external LCD, and replace the
suspicious LCD.
3. If the LCD LED is lit, disassemble the back cover of the LCD monitor
and reconnect DVI and power cables. If it still has no display, try an
external LCD. It the external LCD monitor have no display too, replace
DVI COMN PWA.

7.2.6 LCD monitor works well and touch panel has no display
If LCD monitor works well but there is no display on the touch panel,
try the following steps.
1. Is there any display during booting up? If so, check dual display
setting. If not, go checking if there is any back light of the touch panel.
4. If it doesn’t work, use an external touch panel for a try. If the issue
is solved, replace the touch panel.

7.2.8 Low sensitivity in B/CF/PW mode
1. Reinsert the probe and insert it into another port to see if the
image becomes normal. If not, perform the following steps.
2. Check all three different types. Is the low sensitivity issue happens
in all 3 types of probes?

7.2.9 B/CF/PW mode noise
4. Are there any EMI devices that affect the probe, remove it.
5. Use another probe for a try to see if the noise still exists.

7.3 Artifacts and noises
Here we discuss about artifacts and noises that may appear in Vinno
system. Some are caused by hardware failure, some are caused by
software failure, and some can be avoided. And the list of artifacts is as
follows.
LIST OF ARTIFCTS
1. Shadow
2. Reverberation
3. Grounding noise
7.3.1 Shadow
7.3.1.1 Cause
Both air and bone will attenuate the ultrasound beam, resulting
a black drop out in the image, thus create out a shadow. And a
shadow has different effects depending on the distance from
the probe. A distant shadow will simply create a drop out behind
the shadowing object. On the other hand, a shadow near the
probe will reduce the effective aperture, thus not creating a
drop out, but instead reducing the lateral resolution.

After you detect the cause of the artifact, you may reposition
the probe. And the issue of shadow can be solved.

8 Maintenance
This chapter is about how to conduct maintenance on Vinno ultrasound scanner.
The whole maintenance work consists of 2 parts: System functional checks, and
cleaning.
Your Vinno service representative can help you with establishing, performing
and maintaining records for a quality assurance program. Contact Vinno for
coverage and price for service.

8.2 System functional checks
8.2.1 Preliminary checks
This sort of checks is mainly for pre-checks before the following
checks. And make notes in form 1, get confirmed by customer every
time you perform service.
1. Ask & record Ask users if they have any question about system.
And record their questions.

There are several automatic diagnostic tools for different electrical
parts. There are as follows.
1. Keyboard diagnostic
2. Touch Panel diagnostic
3. LCD display diagnostic
4. Probe board diagnostic
5. Transmit board diagnostic
6. Receiver board diagnostic
7. Motherboard diagnostic
8. DCDC diagnostic

8.2.2 Functional checks
The following steps show how to do functional checks. Refer to form 2
1 Power plug check Power off. Disconnect the power plug. Inspect it
to check if there is any damage.
2 Power wire checks inside Pull the power plug out, wait 30 seconds.
Remove right and back covers. Verify that the
LINE, NEATRAUL and GROUND wire are properly
attached to the terminals and no strands may
cause a short circuit.
3 Connector checks Remove all the covers, and check all the
connectors to see if they are tightly connected.
And install all the covers.

8000396
Verify multiple and triple mode, and check
system controls.
13 Check noise and probe Insert every probe, and check if there is any
element test for each probe noise in the image. And check physical
appearance of probes, perform element test for
each probe.
15 Casters and brakes Release brakes and slide the system to check all
the casters can move.
16 Top console up/down check Press Up/Down button, top console can go up
if applicable and down

8.4 Cleaning
1. Brush the device as a whole. Use a Dust proof brush to brush the
whole device to get rid of dusts and ashes.
3. Clean keyboard.
Moisten a soft, non-abrasive folded cloth or sponge with non-abrasive
soap and water solution (DO NOT use any solution containing abrasive
powder or strong chemicals such as acid or alkaline). Squeeze excess
liquid from the cloth, and wipe the keyboard. After that rinse the cloth
with running water and wipe the keyboard again. Use a dry cloth to
dry the keyboard. And wait the keyboard to dry before return to use
again.

8.4.2 Cleaning procedures for service
Cleaning procedures for service are as follows. And cleaning
procedures should be done every time when service maintenance is
conducting. And remember to power off before cleaning.
1. Remove left, right, back and bottom covers. Wipe them with
moisture cloth with soap. And wipe again with water.
2. Remove filter if applicable. Clean the filter. After that, reinstall the
filter to system.
1. Pull the
filter out
from the
system.
2. Carefully
wipe the
filter to get
rid of the
dusts.
3. reinstall
the filter to
the system
3. Remove all the outside fans. And clean them with vacuum cleaner
or soft-bristle brush to remove dust or ashes.

PROCEDURES CORRESPONDING PICTURE
1. Remove host
assembly from
the system,
refer to 6.11.1.
2. Carefully use
a brush (or
vacuum
cleaner) to
clean the inner
PWAs.
5. Clean DVDRW. Use a brush to remove dust from the DVD RW.
6. Peripherals cleaning.
7. Reinstall the host assembly and covers. Use soft bristle to remove
dust from any part of the system.
