1 General Information
Purpose of this chapter:
1.1 Introduction
1.1.1 About Vinno
Vinno is focusing on producing premium diagnostic ultrasound
development to provide customer clinical value through Continuous
Innovation, Excellent Performance and Accessible Solutions.
Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is one of the oldest living tree species in the
world and its leaves are among the most extensively studied medicinal
herbs in use today. In some Asian Countries, it is the tradition of
grandfathers to plant a Ginkgo Biloba tree for their grandsons’ birth.
The tree matures and bears fruits when the grandson is of marrying
age. Just as the tree is expected to have a lengthy lifespan, it is hoped
that the grandson will also have a long, fruitful life.

The following pictures show all the peripherals that Vinno system
uses.
1. Keep the EMI sources away. Put Vinno scanner at least 5 meters
away from the EMI source.
4. Take good care of Cell phone. Cell phone may transmit a 5V/m
signal; that could cause image artifacts.

This chapter gives you an overview of the renewable parts of Vinno system.
FRU means Field Replace Unit. Normally service won’t repair it directly, just
replace it as a whole. And every FRU has a part name.
Customers can order them with part number. Get a FRU part name and number
list from you local sales representative.
The following shows part name of FRUs. If something is wrong with a particular
part, customers can apply to renewing the part.

6.11 Replace Bios Battery
Bios battery is also called CMOS battery, which is used to retain BIOS in
memory as well as the clock. If you find that the system clock goes slowly
or you get a blue screen saying “CMOS cannot start PC”. Then they are
signs showing that you should replace the CMOS battery.
For most of the time, CMOS battery can last for 10 years.
The following steps show how to remove the low energy battery.

7 Troubleshooting
This chapter gives you brief information how to do trouble shooting. And some
known cases are shown in this chapter, as well as a trouble shooting form is
provided for analysis.
DO NOT wear the ESD Wrist Strap when you work on live circuit
that more than 30 Volts is present.
4. Develop a solution;
The following form is a part of the trouble shoot form, and an example
was shown. It is effective to identify the symptom when you are

8. Item 7. When is date of purchase? How long have the machine
been working? How long does the symptom last?
10. Item 9. Ask the customer where does the symptom exact happen?
1. Check for obvious causes. Check the wires, fuses and voltage at
electrical outlets.
60 / 84
8000136
Maybe till now, you cannot trace down the true cause. The following
steps may help you trace the true cause.
5. If all are done, Verify that all the voltages are present and within
tolerance.
7.1.7 Return the system to the customer and close the call
After the reported problem is fixed and the system tests are
successful, return the system to the customer and close the call.

8000136
Use all personal protection equipment (PPE) such as
gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses, and kneeling pad,
to reduce the risk of injury.
2. Check the Power button on the Keyboard. Is it lit? If not, replace the
keyboard, reconnect keyboard cables.
3. If you still cannot find the cause. Remove the left, right and back
covers. Check DCDC and ATX power light. If DCDC is not lit, that means
it is not energized by Breaker. Replace DCDC. If ATX is not lit, that
means ATX is not energized by DCDC, replace it or DCDC.
5. If every LED is lit, check DCDC output and input. Check ATX output
and input.

5. If every LED is lit. Replace DCDC and ATX for a try. And do not
replace them at one time.
63 / 84
8000136
7.2.3 System cannot boot up
If the Vinno system does not start when you press the PC’s power
button, proceed the following steps:
64 / 84
8000136
a) If it displays “NO Boot Device”, dissemble back cover, and check
HHD connection. If the connection is right, Connect Service HDD
and power on. If it is still display “No boot device”, check ATX, DCDC
and motherboard LED, to see if any of them is not lit, replace the
suspicious one.
If the system cannot scan, try the following steps to find the root
cause.
2. If the name is correct, go check the image is active or not. And if the
image is not active; press “Freeze” key to see if this key is working or
not.
65 / 84
8000136
3. If the name of the probe is not correct, change another probe for a
try. If it the probe name remains wrong, insert the probe into another
probe socket. If the name becomes correct, change TT PWA.
4. If the name of the probe remains wrong, replace all the PWA for
trying in the following sequence: TT2FS, TT PWA, T-Main PWA.
7.2.5 Touch panel works well and LCD monitor has no display
If Touch panel works well and LCD monitor has no display, try the
following steps to solve this issue.
2. If it is not lit, check the LCD connections. If it is still not lit, check the
input voltage (12VDC). If it has no input voltage, replace DCDC. If it has
input voltage, try to connect an external LCD, and replace the
suspicious LCD.
3. If the LCD LED is lit, disassemble the back cover of the LCD monitor
and reconnect DVI and power cables. If it still has no display, try an
external LCD. It the external LCD monitor have no display too, replace
DVI COMN PWA.
7.2.6 LCD monitor works well and touch panel has no display
66 / 84
8000136
If the covers are removed from an operating system,
some metal surfaces may be warm enough to pose a
potential heat hazard if touched, even while in shut
down mode.
If LCD monitor works well but there is no display on the touch panel,
try the following steps.
1. Is there any display during booting up? If so, check dual display
setting. If not, go checking if there is any back light of the touch panel.
4. If it doesn’t work, use an external touch panel for a try. If the issue
is solved, replace the touch panel.
1. Reinsert the probe and insert it into another port to see if the
image becomes normal. If not, perform the following steps.
2. Check all three different types. Is the low sensitivity issue happens
in all 3 types of probes? Or it just happens in 192 element probe.
68 / 84
8000136
potential heat hazard if touched, even while in shut
down mode.
4. Are there any EMI devices that affect the probe, remove it.
5. Use another probe for a try to see if the noise still exists.
69 / 84
8000136
7.3 Artifacts and noises
Here we discuss about artifacts and noises that may appear in Vinno
system. Some are caused by hardware failure, some are caused by
software failure, and some can be avoided. And the list of artifacts is as
follows.
LIST OF ARTIFCTS
1. Shadow
2. Reverberation
3. Grounding noise
7.3.1 Shadow
7.3.1.1 Cause
Both air and bone will attenuate the ultrasound beam, resulting
a black drop out in the image, thus create out a shadow. And a
shadow has different effects depending on the distance from
the probe. A distant shadow will simply create a drop out behind
the shadowing object. On the other hand, a shadow near the
probe will reduce the effective aperture, thus not creating a
drop out, but instead reducing the lateral resolution.

There are several automatic diagnostic tools for different electrical
parts. There are as follows.
1. Keyboard diagnostic
2. Touch Panel diagnostic
3. LCD display diagnostic
4. Probe board diagnostic
5. Transmit board diagnostic
6. Receiver board diagnostic
7. Motherboard diagnostic
8. DCDC diagnostic

to check if there is any damage.
2 Power wire checks inside Pull the power plug out, wait 30 seconds.
Remove right and back covers. Verify that the
LINE, NEATRAUL and GROUND wire are properly
attached to the terminals and no strands may
cause a short circuit.
3 Connector checks Remove all the covers, and check all the
connectors to see if they are tightly connected.
And install all the covers.
13 Check noise and probe Insert every probe, and check if there is any
element test for each probe noise in the image. And check physical
appearance of probes, perform element test for
each probe.
