Here's a role-play interview scenario between an interviewer and a low-income individual:

Interviewer: Good morning, thank you for coming in today. Can you start by telling us a little bit
about yourself?
Interviewee: Sure, my name is Njazmir and I live in a low-income neighborhood. I have been
struggling to make ends meet for a long time now.
Interviewer: Thank you, Njazmir. What kind of work have you been doing lately?
Interviewee: Well, I've been working at a fast-food restaurant for the past six months. It's not
much, but it pays the bills.
Interviewer: How much do you make at the fast-food restaurant?
Interviewee: I make minimum wage, which is $7.25 an hour. It's really hard to make ends meet
on that kind of money.
Interviewer: I understand. What kind of bills do you have to pay each month?
Interviewee: I have to pay for rent, utilities, food, and transportation. It's a struggle to make sure
everything gets paid on time.
Interviewer: I can imagine. Have you looked into any government assistance programs?
Interviewee: Yes, I have. I'm currently receiving food stamps, but it's not enough to cover all my
food expenses. And I don't qualify for any other programs because I make slightly above the
income limit.
Interviewer: That must be frustrating. Have you thought about finding a higher-paying job?
Interviewee: Of course, but it's easier said than done. There aren't many jobs available in my
area, and the ones that are available often require skills or education that I don't have.
Interviewer: I see. Have you considered going back to school or learning a new skill to improve
your chances of finding a better job?
Interviewee: I would love to, but I can't afford to go back to school or pay for any training
courses. It's just not feasible for me right now.
Interviewer: That's understandable. Is there anything else you'd like to share with us about your
experience living on a low income?
Interviewee: I just want people to understand that it's not easy. It's a constant struggle to make
ends meet, and it can be very stressful. I'm doing the best I can, but sometimes it feels like
there's no way out.
Here's a role-play interview between an interviewee and a high-income individual:
Interviewee: Good afternoon, thank you for taking the time to speak with me today.
High-Income Individual: Of course, it's my pleasure. What can I do for you?
Interviewee: I'm interested in learning more about your career and how you've been able to
achieve such a high level of success. Can you tell me a little about your background and how you
got started?
High-Income Individual: Sure. I come from a working-class family, and I was always interested in
business and finance. I studied hard in school and got my MBA, and then I started working for a
large corporation. I worked my way up the ladder, and eventually, I was able to start my own
business.
Interviewee: That's impressive. Can you tell me more about your business?
High-Income Individual: I started a consulting firm that specializes in helping businesses grow
and improve their operations. We work with companies of all sizes, from small startups to large
multinational corporations. It's been a challenging and rewarding journey, and I'm proud of
what we've accomplished.
Interviewee: That sounds fascinating. What do you think sets your business apart from others in
the industry?
High-Income Individual: I think it's our focus on innovation and creativity. We're always looking
for new and better ways to help our clients succeed, and we're not afraid to take risks and try
new things. We also have a highly talented and dedicated team of professionals who are
committed to delivering the highest quality work.
Interviewee: That's great to hear. Can you tell me a little about your leadership style and how
you manage your team?
High-Income Individual: Sure. I believe in empowering my team and giving them the freedom to
take ownership of their work. I also believe in setting clear goals and expectations, and
providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve those goals. I'm always looking for
ways to improve our processes and create a more collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Interviewee: That's very inspiring. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting
out in their career and wants to achieve similar success?
High-Income Individual: My advice would be to work hard, be persistent, and never give up on
your dreams. It's also important to stay focused and disciplined, and to always keep learning
and growing. Finally, I would say that it's important to surround yourself with people who
support and believe in you, and who will help you achieve your goals.
