Oahu

North Shore – Basically a day trip

Haleiwa town

Giovanni’s shrimp truck is here.

Matsumoto Shave Ice

Waimea Bay is here

Turtle Beach

Pipeline (where a lot of surf competitions happen)

Cool Hikes –

Koko Head

Makapuu light house (tide pools are down here too), Alan Davis is there too where you can jump off this
wood plank thing and get in the water. Alan Davis (the place to jump off the log thing) is here too.

Hanauma Bay – This is a popular beach but it has a cool hike too.

Maunawili Falls – That Jason Mraz song “I’m Yours” has the water fall and stuff from this hike. Don’t be
a wuss and make sure you jump off.

Manoa Falls – Easy hike. You’ll pass the university I went to!

Diamond Head – probably the most touristy hike you can do

Pillboxes - This hike is in Kailua. Easy but super nice. You should definitely go to lanikai beach after.
BEAUTIFUL beach. If you want to you can actually rent kayaks and kayak to the islands you see . Also
Kailua is has this restaurant called Cinnamons. You should go here and eat some food. The Red velvet
pancakes are the best.

If you want to do a cool hike do stairway to heaven. You may have seen pictures of this place. It’s
fucken sick. 3,000 something steps up. Keep in mind it’s also an illegal hike so you need to go early to
beat the guard. If the guard is there and you get there you may be in some trouble.

Food –

Foodland – a super market I was talking about. Buy poke.

Go to leanards – Famous for malasadas

Liliha Bakery – Good pastries – Get the coco puffs and bring them back for me
Check out a 7-11. There will be different foods. Spam musubi, pork hash, etc.

McDonalds – Portuguese sausage eggs and rice. If you want spam it’s the local deluxe platter.
Mcdonalds also has saimin.

Keaaumoku Seafood – Also has good plates for poke

Rainbow Drive-in – known for plate lunches . Don’t forget to eat a local moco.

Zippy’s – Also known for local food. Maybe get a zip pac or something

I don’t really eat too much ramen but you can check out tennkaippin, go ma tei, honestly there will be a
bunch of places around the area I think you’re in. ezogiku has cheap ramen

L&L – also has local food. I like zippy’s better though.

Kapahulu (not too far from where you’re staying) has a good restaurant called Uncle Bo’s. It’s like a hole
in the wall place

Side Street inn – there’s 2 locations and I like it a lot. Also local food.

Mac 24/7 is in the Hilton prince kuhio- this restaurant was in man vs food

Sushi king is good for late night eats

JJ Dolan’s – This place is in downtown – Awesome Pizza. Probably better than any pizza in Canada. At
least I haven’t had better

The Health Bar or Bogarts. These are located right next to each other by diamond head. They have
really good acai bowls. Bogarts has good omelets.

There’s actually a lot of food choices. Waikiki has a shit load.

I don’t eat pho. But Sweet Home café is Taiwanese hot pot. It’s better than that shit.

Curry house- it’s a chain that I think started in japan.

Yama’s fish market also known for local food. Get kalua pork.

I also like La Pizza Rina

If you want expensive but good go to top of Waikiki, ruths chris, morton’s steak house

Beaches –

Already mentioned Lanikai above

Waimea Bay which I said earlier in the North Shore portion. Don’t forget to jump off that rock.
Hanauma Bay as well

You should go to Waikiki beach since that’s super touristy

Check out Sandy Beach. Waves there are big so maybe you shouldn’t go in but there’s a lot of body
surfers/ body boarders etc.

Sherwoods –

You should check out Ko’olina. Super nice area. It has lagoons and shit. Also the Disney resort is here

Maui

Not sure where you’re staying but if you can choose the Sheraton Maui (this is where I used to work).
It’s built on black rock which is one of the things you see. There’s a cliff dive ceremony every night. In
the day time you can snorkel around here and jump off the rock.

Ka’anapali beach- With that said that’s where Sheraton Maui is as well. Beautiful beach.

Ka’anapali is basically Lahaina. In Lahaina go to Front Street. This is sort of like Maui’s Waikiki (Waikiki is
much bigger). There’s shops and restaurants here. Go to Cool Cats (good burgers). Tourists always go
to Kimo’s, Lahaina Grill is good for couples. I would definitely say go to Aloha Mixed Plate (they sell local
food). Also Starnoodle (This restaurant is close to the crossfit box I started at. SO if you go to crossfit go
to Crossfit state of mind). You’ll see where I started.

Definitely do the road to hana - this will be a full day thing but there’s cool things to do along the way.
Hikes here that are cool:

-Twin Falls – Pretty easy

-Bamboo forest – Also pretty easy ( I think around mile marker 14). But it’s cool there’s like 3 water falls.
TO get to the last one you have to jump in the water and swim there.

-Commando Hike – This one is super cool. You have to go through a lava tube. I used a head lamp
because it’s pitch black and you have to swim through. Keep in mind this one you should have a group
of people to be safe.

On the way to Hana there is Black sand beach. Also very cool. Red sand beach is in hana. Once you go
all the way down there is a national park there as well. Waimoku falls is there. Again, Hana is like a full
day thing and driving back will be long. (some people choose to stay at the one hotel in there).

Paia Town- You pass this going to Hana. It’s a pretty cool hippie place. They have pretty good food too.
Go to Flatbread Pizza. Or there’s the fish market there.

Other restaurants that are good:

Tiffany’s – Got good food

Da Kitchen – One of my favorites. I always get the katsumoco. Keep in mind these food portions are
pretty big. I always finish though. Get the deep fried spam musubi too. Pretty damn popular.

Maui Brewing Company – The beer is actually brewed in Maui. Got good bar food too.

Sanseis – They have 50% off sushi after a certain time.

Miso Phat – Another sushi place.

Gazebo – Good breakfast spot.

Hikes –

Chutes and ladders is cool. Some what dangerous.

13 Crossings – I’ve only done this hike once but also dangerous if you go to the end.

Already mentioned a bunch in the hana part.

Kihei/Wailei – Check this side out too. Grand Wailea Resort was where that Adam Sandler/Jennifer
Anniston movie was filmed. This area is pretty nice. Big beach/Little beach are here. Little beach is like
a nude beach. This is the also the side that Geoff stays at.

Kauai

I don’t know this island that well since I never lived here. I’d google shit. BUT, definitely go to Hanalei.
It’s beautiful up there. I stayed at the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas the first time. That’s up
close to Hanalei. It’s a beautiful beach. Go to the pier. You can try to surf too.

***Note. If you like to try things you should just try to surf on every island.

Wailua Falls – Super nice Water fall. We actually got to the very bottom even though there’s signs that
say not to do it. Basically some homeless looking man told us where to go. If you can you should.
Basically pass the fence and keep going right. (in case you were trying to do it). Jump in the water too!

Waimea Canyon is something to see as well.

Poipu – I stayed at the Sheraton Poipu this last month. Area is also beautiful and I surfed here.

Hanalei – Definitely do this. If you can do the hike which can take a few days is what I heard (so you
camp). Or you can do what I did and I took a boat. It included the boat ride there, all you can drink
booze, and dinner.
