PROGRAM BACKGROUND

In today's world, the voice of young people is more important than ever.
Youth have unique perspectives, fresh ideas, and a deep passion for creating
positive change. Their voices carry the potential to challenge the status quo,
question outdated systems, and drive innovation in various fields. The roots of
youth voice mattering can be traced back to the global youth movements of
the 1960s and 1970s. During this period, young people around the world
actively challenged existing power structures, advocating for civil rights,
gender equality, and an end to the Vietnam War. Their collective actions
showcased the power of youth voice in driving social change and influencing
political agendas. Furthermore, youth representation in decision-making
bodies and forums has improved, with youth-led organizations and youth
advisory councils being established at local, national, and international levels.

The Golden Youth Leaders Summit is an engaging and future-oriented forum

that brings together young individuals from a wide range of demographics
and geographic locations for the purpose of discussing, collaborating, and
shaping the course of the future. It promotes youth empowerment and
serves as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue, innovative ideas, and sustainable
solutions to address global challenges. A policy case that can be
implemented based on the sub-theme which is at present under discussion
will be developed by delegates who represent a variety of different
backgrounds collaborating together.

We are hoping the delegates of the Golden Youth Leaders Summit will be
empowered, inspired, and equipped to drive positive change. By embracing
diversity, fostering collaboration, acquiring knowledge and skills, and
committing to action, these young leaders have the potential to create a
ripple effect that extends far beyond the summit, shaping a brighter future
for themselves and generations to come.
