Objective By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils will be able to understand with
support short simple narratives on a range of familiar topics
Activities Pre-lesson
1. Show one of the pictures from Part One of the story (and find out what
pupils remember about the story.
Lesson delivery
2. Have pupils put in order the pictures from Part 1 of the story and retell
the story in pairs. Ask pupils if they remember what happened in the first
part of the story. (CBA)
3. Play the CD of the story and read. (CD2 – Track 32)
4. Pupils read the story again. Have them read together while sitting
comfortably. Have pupils talk about the story together. (21st CA)
5. Enhance listening activity by playing the CD (Track 32) and then get the
pupils to answer comprehension questions. (HOTS)
Post-lesson
6. Use the object pupils made in previous lesson and play a round of the
game Whose is it? (TB page 116)
7. Ask pupils to bring empty jars, boxes, plastic and other
containers from home to the next lesson.
