a. Understand the basic concepts about computers.
b. Understand how the information processing cycle works.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Read the PDF/PPT file forwarded in our GC.
2. Watch (re-watch) the video entitled: What is computer, on Topic 1:
Introduction to Computers for additional information about the topic. (Video
will be forwarded in our group chat)
3. Print/Write your outputs and submit during our F2F class. (Your outputs will
be printed/written in long bond paper-8.5”x13”)

ACTIVITY 1: ARE YOU A COMPUTER?


Answer the question that follows. Place your answer in paper (½ crosswise). Prepare for
a discussion on the said activity in our class. (N.B.: If you are done with this activity,
you may skip it and proceed to the next activity.)

QUESTION: Based on the definition of a computer, can we consider a CALCULATOR a


computer? Why/How?

ACTIVITY 2: ILLUSTRATING THE IPOS!


Using the IPOS model for the Information Processing Cycle, give an example of how it is
used in real life. Use the diagram below to explain how the process occurs. Refer to the
pdf copy labeled page 6 – Figure 1-2 for an example. (Use a long bond paper [8.5x13] for
your output.)
