What is It
Below are some tips on how to clean, tight and do simple repair of hand tools,
drawing instruments, equipment, and paraphernalia.
1. Clean each tool thoroughly every after use with a damp cloth and wipe it dry
with another piece of cloth before keeping it.
Cleaning can extend the tool’s usability and longevity.
2. To avoid stock-up and clog, apply oil on the movable parts of the measuring
tools such as zigzag rules, calipers, dividers, and compasses.
3. Immediately report defective measuring tools and any hazard to the teacher.
While you do the Cleaning, you Inspect some parts of the tools, equipment
and paraphernalia for clogged dust or rusts. In drawing instruments, check
if there are broken edges before you Store to its proper places.
Malfunctions (other unplanned or unusual events) may not be totally removed, but
it can surely be lessened through careful observations and preventive measures.
There is no exact way or procedure to avoid any unexpected malfunctions. The only
way to minimize them is to have the proper knowledge in using the different tools,
drawing instruments, equipment and paraphernalia.
Here are few tips to minimize malfunctions: Remember “D-A-R-K” which means:
1. Do not work alone so that there is someone who can help you in case of
unexpected malfunctions.
2. Ask assistance from experts if necessary.
3. Read properly the user’s guide before using.
4. Know the tools, drawing instruments, equipment and paraphernalia’s uses
and functions.
Scenario: John is a boy scout leader and was instructed by his commander to unlock
the code on the given task. The commander gave him user’s manual with task and
code. Help John complete his mission!
