Daily Lesson Log in General Chemistry 2

Quarter 3: Date: February 5, 2024

Section: STEM 11 (Einstein and Galileo)

Time: 7:30-8:30 (M-Thu)/ 3:00-4:00 (Mon-Thu)
I: Objectives
Content Standards 1. the properties of liquids and solids to the nature of forces between
particles
Performance Standards Design a simple investigation to determine the effect on boiling point or
freezing point when a solid is dissolved in water
Learning Competencies Use the kinetic molecular model to explain properties of liquids and solids
(STEM_GC11IMFIIIa-c-99)
Objective/s 1. Define Kinetic Molecular Theory
2. Explain the different postulates of the Kinetic Molecular Theory
3. Use the kinetic molecular model to explain properties of liquids and
solids
II: Content/Subject Matter The Kinetic Molecular Theory
III: Learning Resources General Chemistry 1 Quarter 3: Week 1 -Module 1
Kinetic Molecular Model
IV: Learning Procedure
Setting the Mode of the Class Prayer before the class, checking of attendance, and arranging the seat plan.
Values Integration Resourcefulness, Decision-making, consistency
5-Minute Reading Activity Identify words/terms commonly encounter in the topic.
Activity Conduct pre-test assessment about Kinetic Molecular Theory via Group
Activity.
Take a glass of water. Drop a few drops of red food coloring in it. What
happens? The red food coloring drops should make their way down the glass
of water slowly, spread out and finally tint all the water a reddish color.
Analysis From the activity, ask the learners “Why is the red tint dissolve in water?”
Abstraction Facilitated discussion on.
a. Kinetic Molecular Theory
b. Postulates of KMT
Application Activity 1. Travelling Water Experiment! Property of Liquid and their
Intermolecular Forces.
Assessment Pen and Paper Test:
Gauge part of the learning resources.
