4. Procedures
A. Warm up: 7 minutes
a. Objectives: to let Ss revise some learned knowledge, raise their awareness of
defining relative clauses and get them ready for the lesson.
b. Content: Treasure Hunt
Questions:
1. ...?..., who was an English Engineer, invented the modern bicycle in 1885.
2. ...?..., which was invented around 1590, was first made by Zacharias
Janssen.
3. Lucky chest: get 1 coin.
4. ...?..., which attaches to baby clothes, is used to clean the floor.
5. Lucky chest: get 2 coins.
6. Wilhelm Röntgen, who was a German engineer, invented the ...?... in 1895.
7. Edward Jenner, who was a doctor in England, created the first ...?... in 1796.
8. ...?..., who was the inventor of the mordern-day dishwasher, created it in
1886.

Task b: Fill in the blanks with who, which, that, or where.
Task c: Combine sentences. Use the second sentence as a defning relative clause.

clauses.
c. Expected outcomes: Ss can fill in correct answer in each sentence and combine
sentences using defining relative clauses correctly.
