 Self-awareness is:
“the ability to recognize and understand one’s own emotions,
thoughts, and values, and how they influence behavior.”

 Put the time in…Ask yourself!


 What are 3 of your strengths and 3 of your weaknesses?

 What are the feelings you are more aware of experiencing?

 What are your triggers? How do you respond under stress?

 How do the different roles you play in your life make you feel (e.g. sister, student, best friend, employee,
wife, etc.)?

 Predict how you will feel and respond before a situation and reflect on your actual feelings and
response after the situation.

 Record (keep a journal) – Allows you to reflect on daily thoughts, feelings, perceptions, choices,
behaviors, and interactions with others.

 Label your emotions Your feelings provide insight into your thoughts and actions, as well as allow us to
better relate with others.

 Ask for constructive feedback

 Think about a problematic situation.


 Be brave and ask others how they would like to see you behave.
 Make two columns A and B.
 Column A: How I see myself? Make a list of words to describe your
attitude and behavior that time.
 Column B: How others see me? Ask your feedback partner to do the same
and record the response.
 The difference will tell you the areas of attention.
