Quarter 1 – Module 11: Inspect Tools and Equipment for Damage

Republic Act 8293, section 176 states that: No copyright shall subsist in
any work of the Government of the Philippines. However, prior approval of the
government agency or office wherein the work is created shall be necessary for
exploitation of such work for profit. Such agency or office may, among other things,
impose as a condition the payment of royalties.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from
Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its Officer-In-Charge Schools Division
Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A. Agustin in partnership with the Local
Government of Pasig through its mayor, Honorable Vico Sotto.
The writers utilized the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum using the Most
Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) while overcoming their personal, social,
and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning material hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs namely: Communication,
Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Character while taking into
consideration their needs and circumstances.

You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to manage
their own learning. Moreover, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners

Functional tools and equipment are those that are in good condition and can
perform its regular functions.
Non-functional tools and equipment are those unfit to perform its normal
function due to impaired and damaged component.
Inspecting tools and equipment for damage
Pliers
Pivot joints and jaws are firm ad sturdy.
The insulation on the handle has not
been compromised, exposing the
conductive material.
Its cutting edge are not dull and chips.
Screwdrivers
Its handle are clean and tight in the
shank, not worn or cracked and do not
display signs that it is used as chisel or
a punch.
Its insulation in the handle has not been
compromised
The shanks are straight and no signs
that it is used as a pry bar.
The head of the flat and Philips
screwdriver are well-defined and not
misuse.
Hammers
No splinters or cracks on the handle
The handles are firmly attached to the
head of the hammers
The heads are not disfigure and not
mushroomed
Power tools
Replace parts that are worn out or
damaged before use.
Make sure the screws, nuts, bolts and
moveable parts are tightened.
Other attachments should in serviceable
condition.
o It should be unplugged from the
energy source and stored properly
when not in use.

ACTIVITY 11.2

Inspection Report form. You as the inspector will assign an item number for each
tool and equipment, put a check if pass of fail and write a remarks for each item.
