SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE VI

ON CLASSROOM OBSERVATION TOOL 3

Name of Teacher: JEAN D’ ARC V. GERONIMO Date: November 12, 2019

Grade & Section: Grade VI Time: 9:55-10:45 am

CONTENT STANDARD

The learners demonstrate understanding of how energy is transformed in simple

machines.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD

The learners demonstrate how sound, heat, light, and electricity can be transformed.
(S6FE-IIId-f-2)

I.OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

a.Identify forms of energy (sound, heat, light and electrical)

b.Give examples for each form of energy (sound, heat, light and electrical)

c.Enumerate uses of each form of energy.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a. Topic: Forms of Energy

b. References: Curriculum Guide, Internet
c. Materials: pictures, powerpoint presentation, manila paper, pentel pen and colored papers

III. LESSON PROCEDURE

a. REVIEW
The pupils will identify what kind of energy is present in the following pictures shown by
the teacher. They will raise their right hand if their answer is Kinetic Energy and left
hand if their answer is Potential Energy.

b. MOTIVATION
Question: Do you have any idea on what are the forms of energy?
The teacher posts a picture of sound, het, light and electrical energy examples on the
board and let the pupils describe each picture.

c. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON

The pupils will identify what form of energy is present in the picture posted on the board.

d. DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON

Discussion on the forms of energy and its uses.
SOUND ENERGY-is the energy produced by vibrating sound waves.
Uses: 1. We communicate and understand each other through our voices.
2. Sound energy serves as a signal.
3. The stethoscope and ultrasound machines make use of sound to determine
normalities of organs and fetus inside the body.
HEAT ENERGY- is a form of energy transfer
-hotness present in an object
Uses: 1.We use heat to cook our food.
2. We use heat to warm our body.
LIGHT ENERGY- is the only form of light that we can see directly.
Uses: 1. It allow us to see everything around us.
2.Plants use the sun’s light energy to produce food.
3. In the process of daylight, our bodies synthesize the Vitamin D which help us to
maintain our bones and prevents our skin from dryness.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY- is a form of energy resulting from the flow of electric charge.
Uses: 1. It is use for lighting, heating, cooling, and refrigeration and for operating
appilnces, computers, electronics, machinery and public transportation system.

e. APPLICATION
*The teacher gives pictures of different examples of the forms of energy to some pupils
and let them post it in the right form of energy.

* Group Activity:
Differentiated Instruction
Group 1- Draw 5 examples of sound energy and discuss its uses.
Group 2- Make a short song about the uses of heat energy.
Group 3- Role Play about the importance of light energy.
Group 4- Broadcasting about the different examples of electrical energy and its uses.
The pupils will present their output after 10 minutes that will be graded with the
following criteria:

QUALITY OF WORK 10
COOPERATION 5
PRESENTATION 5

f. GENERALIZATION
*VALUES INTEGRATION: Is energy important? Why?
What will happen to us if there is no energy?
Can we live without energy?

What are the forms of energy?

Give examples of each form of energy and its uses.
