Section21 - MetricScrew-Threads

1. Scope. The metricscrewthreadstandardsdescribedhereinconstitutethe

basicstandardsto be used by the FederalServices. This documentcontains
generalstandardsfor 6!)0,symmetricalthreads- the M profileand the MJ
profile.

1.1 Limitations.Screwthreadscoveredin this sectionare only for sizes

of 1.6m and larger. For smiler sizes, use miniaturethreadsin accordance
withFED-sTD-I!28/5.

1.2 Applimtion.

1.2.1 M ProfileScrewThreads. The M profileis intendedfor general

purposemtric screwthreadapplications. With the standardtoleranceclass ‘
6H/6git is to be used for metricapplicationswhere inchclass2A\2Bhas been
used.
1.2.2 W ProfileScrewThreads. The NJ profileis to be used for metric
where inchclass3A/3Bmd Uw thr=ds have ken uSedO It is
