Project Title: Sacco Management System

Introduction:

The Sacco Management System proposed herein aims to streamline and automate various operations of a
Savings and Credit Cooperative (Sacco). It encompasses both user and admin dashboards to facilitate
seamless interaction and management of Sacco affairs. The system will provide a comprehensive platform
for members to access services, apply for membership, request loans, view statements, and participate in
Sacco events. Simultaneously, administrators will have robust functionalities to manage memberships,
loans, finances, events, penalties, and member concerns effectively.

Objectives:

The primary objectives of the Sacco Management System are:

1) Automate and streamline Sacco operations for improved efficiency and member
satisfaction.
2) Enhance transparency and accountability in Sacco management.
3) Provide members with convenient access to Sacco services and information.
4) Empower administrators with tools for effective oversight and decision-making.

Admin Dashboard Functionalities:

❖ Loan Approval: Administrators can review and approve/reject loan requests submitted by
members. The system will provide detailed information about loan applications, enabling
administrators to make informed decisions.

❖ Member Registration Approval: Administrators have the authority to approve new


member registration requests. They can verify applicant information and ensure
compliance with Sacco regulations.

❖ Penalty Management: Admins can impose fines on members for violations such as late
payments, exceeding loan limits, or other specified infractions. The system will track
penalties and notify members accordingly.
❖ Transaction Logs and Balances: Administrators can access transaction logs and view
balances for both savings and loan accounts. This feature enables real-time monitoring of
financial activities within the Sacco.

❖ Account Management: Admins can activate, deactivate, or modify user accounts as


necessary. This includes updating member information, resetting passwords, or handling
account-related queries.

❖ Financial Reporting: The system enables administrators to generate financial reports


including income statements, trial balances, and balance sheets. These reports offer
insights into the Sacco's financial health and performance.

❖ User Account Manipulation: Admins have the capability to view and manipulate user
accounts directly from the admin panel. This includes modifying account settings,
permissions, or associated data.

❖ Calendar Events: Admins can add and view calendar events such as meetings, deadlines,
or special occasions relevant to the Sacco. This feature helps in scheduling and
organizing Sacco activities effectively.

❖ Loan and Welfare Categories: Admins can define and manage different categories of
loans along with their associated rules and criteria. Additionally, they can add welfare
categories to support members in need.

❖ Share Balances: Administrators can view share balances of members and reallocate
shares as necessary to maintain equity and fairness within the Sacco.

❖ Member Concerns Management: Admins can view and respond to member concerns or
queries raised through the platform. This feature promotes open communication and trust
between administrators and members.

User Dashboard Functionalities:

They can fill in the required forms online and download a digital copy for submission.

➢ Statements and Balances: Users have access to their statements and balances, including shares
and cash balance. This feature provides members with real-time visibility into their financial
status within the Sacco.

➢ Loan Requests: Members can request loans through the platform by filling out the necessary
forms and submitting relevant documents. The system will guide users through the loan
application process and provide updates on the status of their requests.
➢ Sacco Events: Members can view upcoming Sacco events and confirm their attendance through
the platform. This feature promotes member engagement and participation in Sacco activities.

➢ Penalties: Members can view any penalties imposed on them for violations or overdue payments.
The system will display the reasons for penalties and the corresponding fines.

➢ Loan Status: Members can track the status of their loan applications, including approved loans
and rejections. They will receive notifications and explanations for any rejected loan requests.

➢ Raise Concerns: Users have the ability to raise concerns or submit claims through the platform.
This feature facilitates communication between members and Sacco administrators, ensuring
prompt resolution of issues.
